18x9.5 +40 front and +27 rear for stock bodied FD?
Another FD wheel fitment question? Jeez. Promise I've pored over the numerous threads and archives, even built an offset calculator to try and get as close an idea as I can before ordering new wheels. But I still dont have certainty in my mind as to fitment, given all the variables of camber, tire stretch, and fender roll/pull.
Currently on RPF1 Type RC (rarer 2pc version) in 18x8.5 +42 (255/35) and 9.5 +45 (285/35). Good traction but the look could be more aggressive for the street imho, and the rears are obv a bit tall right now so also maybe not ideal.
Looking to maybe replace with NT03s and trying to figure out max fitment without needing to pull like crazy. I can deal with rolling though.
Currently looking toward 18x9.5 +40 front with 255/35 and for the rear a 9.5 +27 with 265/35.
Do you reckon those will fit without excessive camber or pulling required, at a ~25" ride height? Again I dont mind rolling the lips if needed.
Sorry for yet another fitment post but thank you in advance for any insights or experiences in this size range!
You would really have to pull it quite a bit. These wheels are 17x10 +38. So assuming a similar width wheel you would be 11mm farther out than this. 12mm is about 1/2” for reference.
Thanks for sharing and posting the pic, that is really helpful. How much fender rolling and/or pulling did it take for that 10 +38? (Are you same size at front?) Which size tires are you using front and rear?
For a 9.5 at +27, it would be 5mm further out than the 10 +38 you are showing.
If it took you a lot of work already to get yours to fit, then I imagine another 5mm outboard would be pushing it.
For the rears it wasn't that bad actually. But I like running a slightly stretched tire for the driving characteristics I like. I'm running 255/40/17 all around. I have a roll in the rear but it is not too aggressive. Another 5mm would not be too bad, I should think if it was rolled flat you would be good.
This is an 18x9.5 plus 40 front and 18x9.5 plus 22 rear SSR GTX01 with 255/35 R888R tire all around. Basically square fitment with staggered offset.
Fits perfectly with rolled fenders front and rear, zero pulling
I should mention the R888R are not exactly all-weather tires but they have grip for days, at my low boost setting and approx 400 rwhp I've had zero traction issues.
Thanks a lot Rich, appreciate it, that really looks fantastic. Looks like an HC-approved 25" ride height? lol Do you recall your camber settings at all?
I'll probably go one notch down on the tire intensity compared to the 888--- currently on RS-3s and prolly just to do RS-4s or similar. Still thinking 265/35 rear, so maybe the +27 that I'm eyeballing would make a bit of room for the extra bit of tire.

I haven't measure ride height, I usually go about one finger width higher than the tires although the OD of the tires is right at 25 inches. Camber settings are for the street, nothing fancy. She's probably due to have them checked/tweaked to be honest.
You're on point with the offset, +27 on a 9.5 with a 265mm rear should work well IMO.
After some seat time the last week, I have to say that the braking performance with this new rubber is phenomenal. They just bite the road and the Brembo front/SBG rear brakes just scrub speed instantaneously.
Btw, I should edit my original post up above........front wheel is an 18x9.5 +40 but with a 5 mm slip-on spacer installed so effectively 9.5 plus 35. I've found that this fitment is about perfect for rolled front fenders and a 255/35 tire for those wanting a nice compromise between "looks flush" and "still drivable"
