? on 18" rims with stock toe links.

I order a set of 18x8.5F and 18x9.5R for my fd from Rishie and i was wondering if i need to get the M2 toe links or the trailing arms to clear?? will my stock toe links work for the setup?? I just don't want to hit anything.

Rishie, i'm dying for the rims to get here!!!!!

thanks, steve

depends entirely on the offset of the wheels. but my guess is that you need the added clearance with the trailing arms and toe links.

JoeD, do you know any other places that have good toe links and trailing arms besides M2?? i've been hearing **** about them and don't really want to go that route if i don't have to.

I am not aware of the toe links being a factor for wheel clearance.

The trailing links can be, but I would bet that you won't need them to clear your wheels. I have 18x10" wheels and don't need the trailing links. Most non-custom wheels have offsets smaller than +50mm (which is what my 18x10s are) which means there will be less chance of rubbing.

The M2 links are nice, and make the rear end track more precisely, but your wheels don't require them. I've read some negative reports about them, too, but can't figure out what the heck they are talking about. I can't speak on the trailing links, but also can't imagine why they would have any negative effect on handling. The toe links are great. The rear wheels stay pointed in the same direction relative to car. The back end does what it should with no wandering or uncertainty. I love the way they feel.

Steve,

The 18s actually "buy" you more clearance from the rear trailing arms. As Max says, you won't need them.

I'm guessing your wheels are Volks with 40-mm offsets fr/rr...if true, you won't need skinnier rear trailing arms.

Save your money for DECENT tires! No crappy Kumho Ecsta 712s ALLOWED on new lightweight, high-performance Volk SE/TE37 wheels

what about 18 x 8.5 front (42mm) and 18 x 10 rear (45mm)...would that require the trailing arms???

I dont think 45mm offset on the rear would require trailing arms....50ish or so well maybe yes. I have 18x10 with 50mm offset but I put the arms on at the sametime...so I dont know how OEM would have worked...

I agree with everything Max said...the m2 components (arms/links) work perfect...I cant see why ppl are complaining about them

I have a 10" wide with a 44 offset and still had about an inch clearance on the stock arms. No need for them. Most people complain about how the M2 arms ride rather then thier purpose.
