17x8, 35 offset wheels, what size tires?

The 17x8 wheels that I want to get have a 35 offset. What are the biggest tires that I can get which will fit the rims and not ever rub?

Thanks!

your talking upfront right?
Ive searched a lot because my new rims are coming soon, Weds sport 5SS 17x8 34 offset and the right fit is 225/50...but!..depending on whoose post you read a 245/40 will fit.
I will give a good answer on a 235 by the weekend because I,m going to test fit a spare tire to the rim.
For the sake of this post has anyone fitted 245/40 17 upfront with a low offset? any pics?? thanks,Carl.

I am istalling S03's 245/40/17 on my blitz rims. These will be for the front only. The rear will have 265/40/17. I have been doing research my self and am finding that they will/should work. I will let you know tomorrow when they are installed. I know 235/35/17 will fit with minor rubbing because that is what is on the car right now. I also don't know my off set yet or the width of my rims because I just purchased the car. Tomorrow all will come to light. I will try to take PICs. This is for an FD correct?

Yup. I was hoping to be able to fit a pair of 235/45s upfront. Please let me know if it fits without rubbing when you try out the spare tire.

Thanks!

My suggestion on that offset would be a 225/45/17 all the way around for absoluteness. However if minor mods were made you should be able to run a Toyo T1S 245/40 all the way around. That would be the best IMO. It would be good to know what suspension you're running as well, including dampers to truly evaluate this.

Let us know.

It has the stock FD suspension.

Hmm, then I'd say a 245/40 is possible. BUt if you don't want to rub at all on comression then just go with the 225/45/17. The 235/45/17 is ok but a bit tall for your gearing. Also when you lower it may rub.

Update for you, the fronts fit ok with a 235/45 Brigestone tire with a 34 offset, its pretty close but doable.
I already removed the liner bolt at the top of the wheel well and rolled the fenders for my 18,s, so you may want to do that too for a little extra clearance. Carl.

I just installed 245/40/17 in the front of my FD with lowering springs. No rubbing. I am not sure what my offset is or the width of the rim. The guys at the shop said they would measure it but when they were done they had forgotten. I will look on the insides of the rims this weekend to try to find out my self. You may even be able to fit a 255/40 or 35/ up front.
