I'm just trying to get an idea for what is a good offset to run. I used the offset calculator and did some halfass measurements with a measuring tape, it looks like it'll work out alright, but I'd just like to be sure. I want them to be pretty flush, but not sticking out, and would of course would like to avoid rubbing the fenders. I don't have a problem with rolling the fenders either.

You'd be better off with +30 offset, as that'll keep you from needing to mess with the fenders, as a +20 will likely cause rubbing.

that will be just fine. its not optimal, but its flush and will look good. you can run a 225/45/17 up front. wider if you have camber plates.

Ok thanks. I still have a lot of time before I'll be able to afford the wheels I want anyway (BBS RS ) so I'm sure a more optimal sizing will come up before then. The closest I could find to optimal were a set of 17x8 +20 (F) and 17x9 +20 (R). I should probably wait till I'm making more power before running such a wide rim anyway .

I picked up some cheap 19x8s w/ +20 offset. Stock 20yr struts + springs but have adjustable rear suspension. didnt have problems but again all stock suspensions.

225/35/19s

I am running a 17*8*35 offset up front, on GC coil overs.

go with the 20 offset, 30 you might have clearance issues if your rocking coilovers

I've got coilovers with 225/45/17's on 17x8 30mm offset wheels. No clearance problems.

with 255's, inside clearance can be an issue with some coils, and probably the stock setup. he's willing to roll fenders, so the +20 will give him guarenteed room to go wide if he so chooses.
not to mention its hella flush yo
