16x8 and 205-55-16

I am looking to buy a new set of wheels. I am pretty set on running 16x8 with decent offset so I have alteast 1.5" lip. So my question is I have a set of bridgstone 205-55-16s laying around will they work with the 8in rim? I know there will probably be some "sreaching" and I am ok with that.

Thanks for any help guys

they won't stretch that much. They'll work fine.

205/55/R16 or 225/50/R16 would be best.
