Neo

i just got a neo to put on my t2 off of ebay for 270 and i was really hopeing i wasn't getting burned and it came in perfect, even had english instuctions. we hooked it up today, ran it on the dyno and tunned it, works very well. theres an easy mode and a pro mode, makes it very easy to tune. i've never even used anything like this before and i was kinda worried but it worked very well. there are so many things that it has on it that the mazda will nvr use lol. 2 v-tech programs and alot of things idk how to use lol. luckily i have a pro helping me out right now but its good **** if anyone is wondering.

I wonder if it would be possible to use the 2 vtech programs to activate electronic ports?

Just installed mine tonight, but a couple things aren't too clear. First off, how the hell do you set it to "rotors" when you are choosing how many cylinders the car has. The manual tells us to, "set 'rotors' X 2," but I couldn't find an option to set it to rotors. I set the cylinders to, "2," but the rpm was way off. I set it to, "4," and the rpm is correct, buuuut I'm sure it isn't right.

Secondly, the, "engrish," in the manual kind of makes things a little more confusing than need be, how do you set up the throttle. I figure I could **** around with it until it finally is correct, or maybe you could help me out.

The manual says, Number of rotors X 2 meaning you have 2 rotors times 2 which is 4, so you set it to 4 cylinders.

Other then that, I can't help you. I Don't know how Neo works.

sorry guys i havn't had computer access for awhile. my settings were pretty odd i was setting my injectors back from -10 starting on primarys and -15 on secondarys pretty much in incriments of -5 up through the rpm range. we were thinking that somone put some nasty injectors in my car.

my car actuially lost the rear rotor shortyly after i had it running and tunned lol but i'm just thinking it was the engine because i don't know how many miles were on it and what was done to it before i got the car.. but my injectors i leaned them from -10 on low throttle and -15 at high throttle at 1000 rpm up to about -40 at high throttle at 8500rpm.. idk why i said that i adjusted primarys and secondary just really tired i guess, it does it at low throttle and high throttle my bad....

You don't have that option. There is no way of setting just primaries or secondaries. When you adjust the % of correction, the SAFC is modifing the AFM signal to the ECU and the ECU will adjust fuel accordingly.

You only have the option of LO throttle and HI throttle map settings. Not Lo or HI Rpm Settings or Primary or Secondary Injectors.

but my injectors i leaned them from -10 on low throttle and -15 at high throttle at 1000 rpm up to about -40 at high throttle at 8500rpm
This is the EXACT reason why your engine blew. -40 is WAAAAYYYYY to much fuel taken out at the top end. Usually its +/- 2%-5% at the top end on N/A applications. On Turbo applications, you most of the time, add fuel.

So basically, you roughly had 40% LESS fuel going into the motor then before. Also, if your engine has stock ports or intake manifolds, you don't have power to 8500 rpm. If you have a S4, you have power till around 6000-6500 and on a S5 you have power till about 6800-7500.

Take this experience as first hand experience. Then, don't do it again

my car had different injectors in it and i do not know what they were.. we were running it on a dyno with a wideband thats why they got leaned out so much. until we leaned them out it was breaking up from the time the secondarys came on.

and i realize i said it wrong the first time and i corrected myself for the high and low throttle. i'm pretty new to the tunning aspect this is only my second turbo car and the gsx i really didn't do much to. i'm just trying to get as much info as i can and i do make alot of mistakes like most people new to turbo cars especially rx-7s do.

You must have some REALLLYY large injectors for removing that much fuel. Where did they stick the wideband and when was the last time they changed the sensor? I have a feeling it was calculating wrong.

it was like a tailpipe sniffer. i'm attending wyotech its a pretty new machine and they use it for all the other cars in the hi-po shop. is it possible that it just may not read right on the rotary engine? yeah when the secondarys kicked on the readings went way right and the car would break up like it had a miss and we were getting alot of fuel smoke. we just kept leaning them out up the rpm range till the car ran clean the whole way through the rpm range and we even left it running alittle rich because of it being a rotary. the car actuially blew while i was crusing in 3rd at like 2600rpm.
