Winter project.

Well, I have many part collecting for upgrades to the 7 and since the rotary meets have been lacking, I'm going to put the 7 under the knife. I'm a little worried to do the upgrades, since it runs so good, but to get more power, I need to do these upgrades. I will be redoing the fuel system, rear diff mounts, turbo, and vac lines. See ya'll next year. Peace Allan

Good luck with her Allan, I'm about to do the same thing. I'm planning on fixing my wheel fitment issue, finishing up my interior projects and installing some of those parts piling up in my garage. Hope that it doesn't get too cold.

Yeah, I'm going to... well, actually, do nothing, since I have no $$, my garage is full of other stuff, and my '90 is my daily driver.
If I had money and another driver, I'd dig up a straight S5 front end, and get all that arranged. My core support is all buggered up, which is why nothing lines up right. Also need new struts badly - I'd love coilovers, but $$. Oh, camber links ($90/pop x 2 - WTF?!) Dangit. Maybe I should sell most of my first-gen stuff... One of these days I need to pull the intake and free up the aux ports, too.
Huh. All my stuff isn't improvements so much as maintenance. Ah, well, gotta have a solid base to start from, right? I'll stick a TII motor in my '79 when I want to play, I guess!

Fuel system will be -6an hoses and new fuel rail fittings, remove pul/dam and stock pre/reg, and replace it with aftermarket adjustable FPR. BNR stage 3, 4 720cc, new gaskets and vac lines and OMP lines. Rear diff mounts and pinion snubber. Alternator 140amp upgrade. Lots of powder coating. Then a good tune. Should be fun.

Sounds fast Allan, looking forward to seeing the finished product. The way this winter is looking I just might put her up on jackstands this weekend, doesn't look like it's going to get much warmer any time soon. Time to shop for a heater for the garage.

My garage is small enough hat my two halogen lights keep it plenty warm. I suspect that the people living above it have a hand in keeping it warm too, lol

I dont plan on maxing out the turbo so 720's will do the job for now. I still run a high flow cat and pass the smog. The engine is still untouched and once I do a rebuild and port job, bigger injectors will be installed. That will be in a few years. Thanks

Started yesterday and got the intercooler pipes, alternator, air pump, TB, upper intake mani off the engine. What a PITA. This week will be pulling the down pipe, turbo, fuel rails, and lower intake mani. Turbo will go to BNR, all piping, alternator, and mani's are going to get ceramachromed at Sport Tuners Services. I have list of parts for the fuel system that I will get locally or order from Summit Racing. I will rebuild all OMP lines, rear diff mount, and install pinion snubber while things are out getting upgraded. I hope it is all worth it. Peace Allan

I removed the fuel rails, turbo, and lower intake mani. All the vaccum lines cracked when I touched them, fuel lines where hard as rocks, bolts didnt want to come off, oil meter lines cracked, and vaccum spider had corroded apart in some areas. I'm now thinking of just removing the emissions and ordering block off plates. I dont want to do the TB modification, so can I ditch everything except the BAC?

Your getting there Allan, sorry to hear about all the issues. That heat cycle thing will do that, mine are probably the same way. I'm planning to drive mine thru the weekend and after that up on jackstands. We'll see!

Turbo and parts to be ceramachromed are shipped out. I will be removing the corroded rats nest and metering oil lines today. I still have to order fittings for the fuel system and then rebuild metering oil lines. Should be done next year some time.

How much boost are you planning to run Allan? Any ideas on target hp, what are you shooting for? Yours will be way done before I even start.

I will run on wastegate pressure of 10psi. If my fuel system can keep up I may go to 12psi. Parts should be coming back to me soon. I should have it ready for next month meet. Im shooting for 300hp.

Got in the SS block-off plates and SS metering oil lines. Fuel fittings should be in Saturday and the UIM/LIM/Intercooler pipes/alt should get back Saturday as well. Turbo at BNR now. I post the before, during, and after pics when I'm done.
