Then the car stopped wanting to fire up, even when I had my car jumped to it. Put a multimeter to the battery while it cranked on its own and the battery was only putting out like 3.5 volts! So, we replaced the battery and the car now fired up all the time but still surged and died from time to time. We cleared the ECU and once again posted on the miata forums and a guy suggested driving around with the gas cap off for a little then putting it back on. Sure enough the car hasn't had a hickup since. Seriously??? seriously??? the friggen gas cap makes the car work when 400 dollars worth of shhhh-crap get replaced?

Yesterday my friend was riding his motorcycle entirely too close to my rear bumper on 20 so I floored it and he followed..... then I let my car decel for a little from 7k rpms then started blipping the throttle and backfired about 4 or 5 times and he backed off real quick, got in the right lane, pulled up along side my car, then flipped me off
