Why off of I35 though? Mopac, 183, 360 would be much nicer! I don't think I've driven on I-35 in over a year, and I live ~3 miles away from it.

personally, I don't like I35 either. even at 7, traffic is still annoying, the area around Fuddrucker's isn't that great, and the parking lot isn't as conducive to car meets as Rudy's or any other patio type place.

I've got pics of the meet on the club site, Here's an mp4 clip of the rotary samurai that showed up

agreed, 35 sucks *****, but at least fuddrucker's is nice to us and gives us a whole row to park. Rudy's played nice until business picked up, once they got busier they took a dump on all the area car clubs, I miss their food, hate their treatment.

I'd like to show up to the Saturday meet. Where is the "Old Car Museum"?

nevermind - My girl and I are leaving out of town (Austin) the other direction around mid-day.

I'll try and make the Next Fuddruckers meet.

Anyone interested in meeting up in a different location? I'm not trying to steal the thunder of Texas Rx's, but honestly, a meet off of I35 is pretty uninspiring. EZ's on Lamar would be cool, or maybe Dirty's downtown as you can sit outside damn near in the parking lot. Anything but I35 please.

True it is a bit uninspiring, even though we had over 15 vehicles show last time including a rotary powered Samurai, (despite the location)
I'd like to say there is a lot more to finding a monthly car club meeting place than it seems as well. We tried several different places prior to Fudd's, it's not as simple as it seems as you have to have parking, a somewhat private room to conduct club bidness, and a central location to boot. Those places you mentioned (been to both of them a million times as I've lived here almost 30 years) would work for one off gatherings if anyone is interested, but would not work well for for a club meeting. We're always open to suggestion however, believe me, we've looked at a lot of places but it's really really really really hard finding a decent place in this car hating town of ours. (at least our current location is easy to find, has plenty of parking, and the place likes us there, so far they're the only ones we've found with all 3 of those qualifications) I personally would love to meet up at Threadgill's or some place with better food, but again, places like that just don't work for what we need unfortunately. (and I really hate that)

Perhaps we should organize a 2nd less formal meet during the week at a different place each month or something, just a bunch of folks in one spot to hang out, score some grub, whatever, basically the same thing as our monthly meets but minus the club bidness and really more to just hang out after work somewhere. That might be a decent workaround
