San An'... where would I want to buy land?

I'm thinking about moving down that way in a few years and thinking a head start wouldn't be a bad idea. So If I wanteds, say, 5 acres where would be the best place(s) in your opinion to get it?

good luck. i'd start with local classified ads for the san antonio region. 5 acres is hard to come by in texas. do you want city or suburb land? look online too.

Well it all depends on how much you want to spend? 5 acres is going to be pricey. It all depends on what side of town you want to buy the land. I believe on the south side of town you can purchase land for about $30-40K per acre. But you'll be about 20-30 miles outside of town. Inside of town you won't find that kind of land inside the loop (1604) for less then $90-100k to upwards of $200K. Let me know when it gets closer to you moving down here and I can do some research for you. I plan on going the same route with my next home. I'm tired of these $300k homes with tiny back yards.
