I posted this over on RX8club.com. Figured Ill post it here also. I think it would be nice to have decent RX weeknight meeting happen in SA. Thats my only goal in trying to get a meet going. Input is welcome.

Now that the New Year is past and some of the excuses for not showing up to a meet are gone would anyone be interested in tryng to get at least a few cars together?

1. How far would you be willing to drive?
2. What time to start?
3. What day?
4. What would be a good location?

My own answers to the above:
1. I'd drive about 45 mins to a good location.
2. Anytime after 6:30pm
3. Any day after 6:30pm I always work weekends so those are out unless after 6:30pm
4. I already listed a couple, yall turn

Here's one suggestion:
Thrusday Jan 12 at 7:30pm at Taco Cabana at 1604 & Blanco.

Theres a large parking lot in the area and several places to eat that are a few hundred yards away.

Theres also another Taco Cabana at 281 & Evans Rd that has a Home Depot parking lot directly behind it. In case your wondering Im really not a huge fan of Taco Cabana they just seem to be in decent locations.

I'd like this to be "rice free" and FOR ME the main purpose of get togethers is to meet other RX owners. That said, I know little about other cars and would like to look and learn.

Anyone else have any ideas?

No problem with me, just need to fix this stupid reoccuring SQL error. I'm down for whenever Kyle.

 

YEah we use to meet on thursday nights (at bennigans on 1-10 and wurzbach) but that went to **** because of the ricers....if we can make ANY other night besides thursdays....that would be great...i work until 9pm on thursday. But yeah i think the weekley thing would be great...i miss having something to look forward to every week.

 

Well I'm always down. Depending on how many cars show up. We could meet up at my friends shop on Perrin Beital &410. Maybe on Fridays? He stays open till about 10:30-11pm on Fridays. We usually hang out and drink. We have a convenient store and a liquor store next door. We also have a DJ that also spins for a few hours too. Just a suggestion, I'm game for what ever.

Jens I'll give you a call later tonight, Lee is gonna tune my friends MB FD tomorrow morning. Wanna check it out?

 

Depends what time, I head to work at 8:30 tomorrow evening. Maybe we could alternate with evening and day meets so that I can attend some.

 

i don't get outta work until 8pm on weekdays, but i'm off fri and sun. sat i'm off at 6pm. i'd be willing to drive a bit to get there. I figure it should be somewhere we can eat cuz food is good. Don't really matter where as long as they got grub and plenty of parking. TC's is okay food is decent and they are open late and have atleast have some alchohol. But yeah i'm down for whenever as long as I can make it.

 

A guy on RX8 has a good idea IMO. Meet on the top parking level of North Star Mall. It also seems like a decent central location for everyone. Gives great photo ops and we all could talk for a bit and then decide on what to do next(drive around, go eat, etc.).

From what I've seen Friday nights 7-8pm seem to work best for everyone(except Jens ).

Anyone up for this Friday?

theres an import show off/dyno compition/bracket racing/burn out comp/exc on eather in late feb for get the exact date.
ill probally drive up from houston for it

 

I'll be there in spirit. We actually got together a couple times at the Bennigans across the street and hit up the parking garage for a photoshoot. I agree that it is a great central location and it isn't too far from some twisty roads.

How many people would like to meet this Friday 13th (nice date huh?) at 8:00pm on top of the North Star parking garage on the San Pedro side?

Im not a Hooters fan(the eatery only of course )but I would show up. I'd prefer Friday though.

Which day would the most people be able to make?

 

Buzzardsluck I don't know about you but I go there for the wings not for the girls. :-p I've always been a Hooters fan, ask Jens.

 

Since Ive been told that people would rather watch the Spurs play ball and since there is a game this Thrusday night, Im going to say that I will be at North Stars San Pedro top level parking garage this Friday night at 8pm. Although Im normally dont mind being alone I would like at least one person to show up lol!

 

So no get together tomorrow night for the game? No Hooters ? :-(

Ok what time, parking garage (top level) on San Pedro side closest to Starbucks? Security won't give us any Shizt?

 

8pm tonite on the top of the San Pedro side parking lot. I don't know where StarBucks is located. Never thought about security , didn't think they had any(obviously I don't visit the mall). I guess if they say anything we can just say we are waiting for friends and we are going shopping together ? I had planned to pop a few photos and shoot the **** for about 30 minutes then everyone could go eat/drink somewhere, whatever the majority wants to do.
