If I go around telling people I've built engines, that make 500hp & I'll build your engine,and you find out later that I've never been on a dyno,with my car or engine,and I really don't know, what kind of power it's really making,would you call me a stand up guy? But if I told you,that I've built several rotary engines and they have been very reliable & I have people that will back me up & tell you that I've built some very reliable engines....I would have to say,that the person that has told the truth is the guy that has built something reliable....

If you guys dont care for me be "annoying" as you say, you can always not read the thread or reply. I haven't broken any forum rules nor made any threatening remarks or personal attacks.

All I've done is ask Chuck to substantiate his horsepower claims that are in this thread (500hp and 560hp), other threads (550hp), youtube (550hp and 706hp), and his signature (500hp).

So far he's done nothing but claim the "706hp" car wasn't his (which is a blatant lie), and then hide any evidence of that by sweeping his youtube comments under the rug.

Most people are defending Chucks personal reputation, which was never a topic. Lets talk about these over-inflated hp claims. No one, not even Chuck, can defend those exaggerations.

From reading this, it seems easy to understand that your car made 706hp and you stopped at 25psi because the intercooler temp was increasing. Can you pleae explain how I'm taking that comment out of context?

Hmmm, yeah I think I can be a little annoying at times.

I knew calling out Chuck on his exaggerated horsepower claims would only make me look bad, but I really didnt care. Chuck has always been really helpful to everyone he comes in contact with and he's even offered to help me a couple times, I think.

But, theres only a few Texas builders that can build an engine capable of holding 500hp for more than one dyno session.
Someone claiming they can...when they havent (as of yet) only de-values the reputable builder list. Its plain old dishonesty.

Is Chuck a good guy? Sure.
Has he helped a lot of people, I think most times for free? Definetly.

But is he "THE" south Texas rotary builder? Hardly.
Can he backup his claims of 500+, 550hp, 560hp, or 706hp engines? Sadly, no.

As for the people who disagree with me, and didn't resort to personal attacks on me, thank you. You know who you are.

As for the others, keep it coming.

 

I'd like to help get back to the topic, and seeing as you're pointing out other rotary builders would you mind sharing with us?
Who built your motor? How much HP does it make? and How long has it lasted?

I'm not a builder nor do I claim to be. I built my last motor. Alan and his brother helped and a couple other buddies. It was stock intake port, and it made 353hp at 13psi with a bnr stage 4. It ran 12.1 @ 116 with 18" rims and Falken FK452's. Purposely slipped the clutch out of the hole and barely managed a 1.9 60'. It didnt last very long, less than 2k miles. We never care to diagnose exactly what what wrong, but I know it ran lean under boost. We pulled the motor and switched platforms to a 13B-RE and GT4202...and thats been sitting on the back burner for way too long now.

Now Phil, if your questions are a comparison test your trying to do between me and Chuck, then your wrong from the beginning. I dont claim to be a builder much less "THE" builder, as Chuck has imprudently dubbed himself to be, especially with his new signature, which is funny, but childish for someone trying to start a business. The honest thing for him to have done was say that he overexaggerated in his hp claims. But he didnt. He beat around the bush and has avoided answering to his claims. Every post I post makes me look worse but I have nothing to lose. And every post Chuck makes continueing to dodge bullets and ignore the facts makes him look worse too.

Now as for comparing Chuck to other reputable builders in Texas, well, the proof is in the pudding...or lack of pudding in Chucks case.
