My whole point is, you steadily claim that you've achieved something that you havent achieved. If your starting a shop, godspeed to you, but dont false advertise your achievements. You've never run anything at the track close to what a 500hp RX-7 runs nor have you ever dynoed your car so why go out and claim it makes 500hp when you and me both know it doesnt?

I ignored it for a while but after seeing your 706 hp claim on youtube, I had to call you out on it.

My car has never been to the dyno for tuning.

I think my car makes somewhere between 70 and 700 hp. Not really sure.

I say we let Chuck finish Butt Dyno Tuning my car and we run it against Dom's car???

Lets go from a dig or from a roll or at the track. I think even Chuck would be in for that kind of pissing match.

When we're finished maybe we can all giggle at each other in the back of a patrol car or something.

You know, I've been in the backseat heading straight to jail for racing, and I actually got the oinker laughing with me and he actually turned around, took me home, wrote me a ticket, and let me go. Sometimes it works.

A true 500rwhp will put a fc or fd with descent traction into the 10s in the quarter mile, The key is to make a steady power curve NOT a spike to 500HP or any other big number.

Cool

Wow, someone having the task to straighten out the world is a B.
If I were to call out every insignificant thing I read or see, I would have no time to have fun and enjoy life.

BTW, agree with rotorholic.

Chucks reputation speaks for itself. He's a professional and an all around great guy. He can also build some seriously stout engines. None of that is debatable.
The next time I need porting or a rebuild I'll be going to Chuck.

How could you possibly calculate whp from the Datalogit? It has no ability to generate a torque curve anyways. At best, you can plot your fuel curves in an Excel spreadsheet and get an idea of what the torque curve probably looks like.

But, you can calculate hp once you have torque. HP = (torque * RPM)/5250 (or 5252, can't remember). Close estimate.

Dyno numbers are the best estimates you can make.

I'm not trying to straighten out the world...just trying to give Chuck an oppourtunity to defend his 500hp (or youtube 706hp) claims. Its a local guy with local baseless claims.

I agree, hes a good guy, but his unproven claims here and on youtube lead people to believe that he is something more that what he actually is. Thats not fair to the people that have actually made the power but can back it up.

Ask the people that know...ask the people that have seen the car run...everyone with "some" knowlegde or experience will tell you that its far from 500hp...much less 706hp.

Since were still holding our breathe on that "560hp email"...how about we get a 500hp timeslip? The car has been to the track but I doubt we will see that either.

Again, who are you to call this out?
I don't see you calling out other builders here in Texas.
He will have to face his customers, if false claims, not you.
So what is your gain here or trying to achieve?
For the record, I don't even know, talked to or have ever done any business with Chuck.

!! Again I am not in this pissing match that Dom has tried to start !!

Let me get a few "Facts" out there

Last time that Dom has seen me or even my FD has been 3+ years maybe more can remember

My FD has been on the drag strip (with non-stock setup) for 5ish runs EVER, 3 of these was 3-5 years ago @ Houston (these are the one that Dom is talking about), and 2 was @ No Problem Raceway.

I don't drag-race, I don't street-race, I road-race (MSR,ECR,No Problem)

There is no need for me to "Defend" anything, my clam is to build a dependable, long lasting engine that fits there budget, and that my customers are happy about, and my track record is the only thing that matters in this department. And for the record, I have NEVER had one person not happy...

No reply in the email department, so i guess you will be holding your breath longer

Thanks "RedBaronII" I don't know what person pulled his chain either, until this started I haven't even seen/heard from him in 3+ years.

Once Again, Not in this Pissing Match, it really isn't my style!

I'm just a regular guy. I'm no one special. A lot of people wont call Chuck out on his claims because hes a good guy, which he is. I personally think he's a cool guy. I've never called him out on his claims of 500hp or 550hp because of that. But when I saw the claim of 706hp on youtube, that threw me over the edge. Its not fair to the people that have actually achieved the power.

I dont call out other builders in Texas because I dont see other builders in TX making false claims.

I gain nothing by calling out his claims...I guess I'm just trying to make the local area a little more truthful. Truth doesnt hurt right?

^^^ We all like you too Dom.

Your "Kill" thread with vids still makes me giggle because you're so proud of it.

All I see is you getting stomped and then a quick ricer fly-by by you. I'm not saying your car isn't faster - I'm saying your own thread makes you look like a douche.

I have no doubt your car is quick - but post some videos from a dig. That honking **** isn't workin to your advantage.

the question here was WHERES A GOOD ROTARY MECHANIC NEAR HOUSTON? The answer is chuck is a good guy and does great work i recommend him. THE END

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED we found the weapons of mass destruction. lol

Chuck, who are some members on here for which you have previously rebuilt engines that could be used as references for potential customers?

I posted it in here because, in here, Chuck said he is "the" south texas rotary builder...and he has "built alot of engines from stock to the 500+hp range"...which is dishonest to someone looking to get a motor built by a reputable builder.

Chuck has personally never done anything wrong to me.

And my answer to the original question is: There are a bunch of guys that can build a good engine in Houston...Fred, Pat, Chuck, CWestbrook, Alan, me, etc...but the closest people with reputable historys and dyno proven (if thats what you want) would be BDC, Kan, and rx7.com.

The truth comes out.
I knew there had to be a reason for "The Defender for Rotary Truth" to call out his local competition.
Your tune: "it's not for me, blah, blah, but others, he is a cool guy, blah, blah..."
Do us a favor and spare the adults from your childish quest.

As far as recommendation for a good rotary builder, I'll say everyone but YOU and Gabriel Gonzalez.

Dont worry I have all ready picked his car up from the shop that charged him close to 600 dollars to clean injectors, tell him that there is some wiring jacked up and do a piston type compresson test, then tell him he has a blown motor. I will be pulling the motor next weekend
