Rita was worse!No coverage here!

South Houma flooded like New Orleans from when Rita was a cat 5 south of us.
We stayed on the NW side for days. 20,000 residents had to evac into the local area where New Orleans evacuees were.
Why is the east side of the storm getting so much press? We were 50 miles on the east from Katrina a cat five’s eye and had plenty of wind damage and some flooding.
But this time I mean houses, the big *** county jail and miles around are underwater like New Orleans because five levees broke.
The proper federal study for protection started in 95-98.Then Feasibility by the corps of ignorenteers went till 2000. Nothing yet.
We’ve been asking for help for 25 years and now we have no coast/islands for protection.( we were 45 miles from the official coastline)
This has occurred because the corps of engineers was to direct the Mississippi river and it land building material straight out because of the 1927 river valley floods.
Now its going to cost all tax payers bazillions! Dumb ******* officials passing the buck and now it’s caught up.
Now add more homeless people……and these were not federal subsidized populations but employed and add the loss of their major fabrication/ship building yards to the problem
