Recommended shp for LSx swap in DFW
Go to Gotham Racing, we also have a in-house body shop with a painter who has been featured in magazines and won awards for his work.

Gotham has done a few then the guys up at ATS in denton have 2 fd's in there now getting it done. Of course it is like turning the car into a transvestite, still looks good on the outside but does not have the right parts that make it unique down below. But if you like transvestites over sexy tight temperamental bitches then those are the shops to go to.

An ls1 in an rx7 isnt "unique"??
I see it more like UPGRADING the parts "down below" to something bigger and better..Just my opinion though.
Rednecks have been bolting SBC'S to any and everything imaginable for almost 50 years now so, No I would not consider it unique.
Bigger yes, better IF you don't know about how to work on rotarys or how to drive it to get the most potential out of its power band.
Some people think a chick with dick is a upgrade but thats not my bag....

worst thread ever,
ls1 rx7 is unique
ls1 rx7 is very fast
ls1 rx7 is lighter than 13b rx7
ls1 rx7 is more reliable
ls1 rx7 has much more torque and a better power band
Mr.Alien>> ls1 rx7 build up is 8k+, which is more than double the price of a rebuild.
LS1 rx7 IS a performance upgrade; swapping an ls1 isn't stupid as the kits are very good and make for a very clean install.
That being said I love my rotary and would never put in a ls1.

Okay I do apologies for getting off subject,
But from what I've read and seen the ls1 apples for apples with the same exhaust and emission accessories is around 75lbs heavier than the 13b RX-7. I've heard some people say its lighter because of this and that, but no one seems to be a able to distinguish a part that the weight savings come from. One thing its not the short block, the rx-7 comes in at around 220 and the ls1 is more than that.
And unique, just count the number of vehicles you see in a day that have SBC's and then count the number with rotary's. And besides that there are complete kits to do the swap and a lot of people have done it, so its just not that original or unique. If you want something interesting with more torque put a 20b in it.
My whole thing is if you want something with a Vette engine in it buy a vette, they do have benefits with a magnesium wheels, 6 speed trans axle and they hold their value.
If you want a car thats one in a million get a rotary Rx-7. If you want something powered by a sbc there are plenty to choose from.
