RALLYCROSS!!!!! June 17 - Austin

So we're having another RallyCross behind our shop, June 17. The event is put on by Spokes and sanctioned by SCCA. Never driven fast on dirt? It's a hoot.

We should have some rentals available if anybodys afraid to beat up on their own stuff, shoot me a PM or email if you're interested. I had a bunch of people flake last time so I'm gonna be a stickler about a contract/down payment (since the rental is so cheap the downpayment is like buying dinner!) but not to worry, its hard to wreck in rallycross... and I don't worry about general wear and tear!

I've been waiting for someone to put some more of these on, I did a couple in houston a few ago and it was a blast. I think I may make take my miata out there, but are there any ground clearance issues at where this going to be at?
Also whats the specs on the mr2 you are renting out?

One of the tenants of RallyCross course design is that the suspension on the car isn't supposed to get light. As such, there are no jumps or huge obstacles to traverse on course. Worst case would be some ruts at the end of the day if we get a big rain within the week before the event -- even so, the last event was the worst for rutting, and the guys that brought out a junker Miata had no issues with it.

FYI, you'll need a hardtop on the Miata to run it in RallyCross.

MR2 may not be available for rent, as it belonged to somebody else and has since been purchased by a friend of his. On the bright side, I should have at least 1 RX7 for rent, maybe 2.

Thats cool, I do have a hardtop on my miata, but the car has been lowered and the shocks are so worn out its not even funny and I need to sell the thing. So thats why I would be intrested in renting something, So what are all the rwd or awd cars you will have available for rent and are the prices the same on all of them?

As of right now we won't have any AWD, just RWD or FWD. Probably 2 RX7's, maybe an MR2 and possibly a Honda of some sort. Prices are $50/seat -- if you want a car to yourself or if you and a buddy want to share a car we can work that out, too.

I've got a brief contract you'll need to sign that basically says you take responsibility for not beating the total crap out of the car (bear in mind I've done 2 of these so far so I know the difference between normal wear and Joey Chitwoodin') and any money shifts that occur.

$20/members (SCCA or Spokes), $25 non members. The event was canceled today because of course conditions, no make up date is known yet.
