And a 'journey' is right. It's hard to find parts in Oklahoma, and the fact that you bought an S4 (judging by your name) you're gonna have problems if you are plannin a Turbo conversion with a JDM motor.

In the end though, it's worth it. I can't wait to get mine running again. Just need a transmission and exhaust and I'll be the only FC at the Stroud drift meets if Lone doesn't show up :P

As far as N/A parts go, I'm pulling a ton off my 86 N/A atm so just hit me up if you need anything. The car was running, but when the exhaust went, I decided to just build it then and there.

I'm not from there, but depending on your drive style, there is a group that meets to drift (mainly Nissans) in Stroud which is about an hour NE on 44 from you.

I plan on leaving it N/A I'm not a big fan of turbos anyway.

I have to replace the Apex seals on the engine so I'm just going to rebuild it in my spare time, hopefully i can start this weekend if i don't have much homework.

Man, that's a full rebuild. Might as well go with the 3mm seals and port it. I don't know of any good shops in OK to send it to get ported though. The Rotary Doctor up in SW Missouri is decent, and Rotary Performance in Garland Texas is good. I have a running N/A that I'm about to pull, but the oil seals are bad. It would at least get your car running though.

IF your looking for someone to port your motor or need any other help let me know. If you are looking for T2 parts let me know. I can also save you time and money buy selling you a built T2 already.

Here are a couple teaser pics. Driveway from today and a motor i just built.

I can also help with engine building/ porting work if you like. I use the Pineapple Racing porting templates whether it's N/A or TII. I'm in Edmond. PM me if interested. I just finished building the engine for my Vert:

How do you like the pinneapple templates?? I have never bought any templates. I learned the fun way on my own motors early on. I just tore down a motor from a very high end shop and wasn't all that enamored w/ the porting. I guess everyone has there own ways and that's what makes that part fun. Nice looking motor you got there. Did you ever attend either track day I had in the past?

Hey Brad! I like the Pineapple templates real well. The TII template is only sold as a "medium" streetport, but if you want later intake port timing you just raise the template higher to your liking. The N/A template works well if you use it "as is". The last time I saw you run it was Fall of '07 at the sheriff's track. I think that was where your rear iron split. Sad day that was. I haven't been to any of the Tulsa events yet.

Yeah,

It was a fun tow home. I now have a beefy S5 rear plate on, a larger turbo, and more mods, but the car is now for sale. I guess we need to get something going again. After that event a certain few folks burned their bridge w/ me and I swore not to put my neck on the line again for someone to bash me. Maybe, we should get something going though. A couple of us may take a road trip in october, not sure yet finalizing plans.

Have you pulled it apart to see what you need? Just buying a kit w/o knowing the parts you need is kinda like going to the pharmacy and buying medicine before going to see the doctor. I'll send you a PM.

My name is Dylan. I've met Cyan and Brad.

I have the 87 TII still! but I live in Tulsa Now.

Dont flame me but I've gone to the dark side with Scotty whom some of you may know as the guy that used to have the Black FD in Stillwater years ago. Were both doing LS conversions, Him with his 240sx coupe and me with the FC.

I'm still in the process of getting ready to get the roll cage welded in and puting on my Extreme Dimensions Kit & CF Doors / Hood, so it will be a bit before it sees the road again. I would love to come to another get together though. The BBQ's were a great time!

The LS conversion kind of defeats the purpose of buying an RX7 imo, but I can't say I haven't considered it. I think it's the fact that I don't want to give all the rednecks around here that kind of satisfaction.

After the swap, what's the purpose of the car? Daily driver, drag, drift..?

Dylan your TII was grey right? I remember your screen name. I guess I can always call my contact at the track and see what we can work up. For another fun time.

I drove the car to the end of the coolant seals with the rotary in it and had a lot of fun but it was always in rough shape to begin with so once the engine gave out it was either off to the salvage yard or make it into something else.

My purpose for it is mainly drag racing and tooling around on the highways and city streets. I might take it to open track as well but other than that it's just pure nostalgia that makes me want to keep it around.

It's funny that you mention the rednecks though. I had a friend that pulled up next to an IROC Z in his FD and the guy asked "what does that thing run on? Rice?". He replied "what does that thing run on? Food Stamps?" Then proceeded to spank his ***!
