Basically I'm using all TII manifolds on an NA motor, but then my power desires are pretty conservative. I removed the 6 port sleeves - I know it won't flow optimally, but under boost I'm thinking it won't be that big of a deal. I also ported the TII LIM to match the 6 port engine ports.

do you have any pics of the lower manifold ported? i have seen more than once that the t2 lim will not port out to fit the na motor without adding some to the manifold itself. the pics that i saw showed that the manifold didnt even cover the ports completely.

It doesn't, but if you think about it, as long as your final ports are bigger in area than the stock T2 ports, then you're already operating at some gain from the T2. You don't have the same flow potential as a stock 6 port, but you're already compensating with boost. If it's that essential to you to fully utilize the six ports, then you can do it like Aaron Cake did in his writeup, notch the frame rail on the passenger side and run a spacer on the exhaust side, but I wonder if you wouldn't lose the same amount of HP from the reduction in exhaust velocity as you gain from widening your intake ports.

did you happen to take pics of the process of porting your manifold? or at least the 6port gasket against the stock t2 lim?

im sorta wanting to use a stock t2 lim on my car just so i dont have to use the spacer on the exhaust, mostly because i dont think i can use the spacer without using a custom downpipe since im doing it in a 1gen se. and im not to worried about using the 6ports, i have a rb holley intake mani on there now and im switching it up. i dont have the stock lim, just one from a 86 with the 6port stuff ripped out.

I actually don't remember - I'll have to check and see if I did. I know I took a good half-inch or better out of the top of the stock tii LIM, but I wanted to make sure I left enough material that I wouldn't have to worry about it cracking or anything.

I will take no crap from you, considering I will have rebuilt an entire car, including the interior, engine, clutch system, and brake system in less time than it took you to change your hood.

But srsly, I had to order a new transmission crossbrace and mounts from Mazda because the shop that rebuilt the tranny decided not to give them back to me when they finished it up. Unfortunately, they loaded it up for me and I didn't pay attention until now, some 3 months later, and they don't have them anymore. They said they didn't remember it coming in with the crossbrace and bracket on it, but I told them I left it on so that it wouldn't roll around in the trunk of the Neon. :P I ordered the parts last Thursday, so once that comes in, I'll be able to put the upper manifold, intercooler, and MAF back on, put the radiator, power steering pump, and oil cooler, (and oil) back in it and I'll be ready to start it. Once it starts convincingly, I'll finish reassembling the A/C stuff and the interior. It probably won't make the June meet unless the other cars start behaving and give me some time to work on the exhaust, maybe by July if nothing crops up like needing a different MAF or throttle body cable, or dual-quad lateral swingarm radiusing lubrication pump or something. :P

New Mazda bits came in yesterday, so I should have the engine fully mounted this weekend. How far else I get depends on how everything else cooperates.

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since I updated. I'll have to get some pictures of the engine mounted and stuff.

Anyway, the shell is finally painted!

Why I oughta!

No, I haven't reinstalled the computers and stuff because I didn't want to get overspray on it. It'll happen.

Speaking of which - turbo guys - do I hook the turbocharger line from the compressor side to vacuum or metered air? Anyone?
