My girlfriend and I are going down to Long View December 27 – January 3 to visit her parents who just moved there this year. From my understanding they are an hour away from Dallas. Just curious on what there is to do around that area.

No it certainly wouldn't but theres still some really pretty views out there even in winter. Though you may have to head south a bit into the pine forests.

 

you should come over to tyler one day, possibly sunday, so you can drive some of the fun local roads with people that know the area.

and ill go ahead and let you know that this past week in the tyler/longview area, the temp has been up close to the 60s.
