Whose 10 second RX-7s?

The only 10 second RX-7 I've seen at NPR was a first gen with a huge *** V8 in it. It was black with a cowl hood that went half way up the windsheild.

Out of towners?

Pics?

Info?

Names?

Dan (www.jigsawRX7.com) is trying to come down from Dallas. Maybe he's a member of the board and will chime in if he can indeed make it or not. Pic of him at the Import Face-Off in San Antonio last month...

/\ mods have OKed these posts before, even stickied them. These races promote the scene and generate a lot of business for area shops.

jigsawrx7.com competed and won the Street Class running mid 10s

Domestic V8s aren't usually allowed to compete at import events with legitimate rules and classes.

This event may not be the biggest or best thing out there, but it's the only event that is somewhat local to the DFW area on a constant basis, and it helps guys like me make a little money by competing while testing out the car for NHRA's series. I try to make it to the larger events across the country, but it's very tough with a little budget compared to the competition. Cliff works hard at trying to get these events going, and it's hard to compete with large companies like NHRA or NOPI. Like I said, I'm not trying to say these events are all that, but at least it's something, so you got to give him some credit...
I'm surprised he's even posting on the forum, he's not an Rx7 guy...he's just another guy like one of us, so I can imagine how many forums he must have to flip between to promote his events.

Thanks Dan! I was planing on running but I have a really wierd issue.
I hope you guys come back and enjoy the track. Many guys from your area with domestics say NPR hooks nice and is nice to run on. Its catch 22. Import scene has many locals but since big names and great cars dont show often the crowd doesnt show.
The track owner told me and ITO that he wants to do a "PINKS" there.
Hmmmmm...

I haven't heard of the NPR until now...however, through the grapevine, I hear it's fairly new (couple of years old) and a great track. Unfortunately, the track was real slick due to the weather conditions at the event. I think the track temp was close to 35 degrees! No track would have been good at those tempuratures, not even Englishtown. I have never been at NPR until the last weekend, but maybe we'll be at the track more often in the future, now that there are some events that we know about running there...We'll see.

Thanks, Dan. Some people just like to complain on forums instead of actually contributing to the race scene. A lot of people appreciate what we do, which is organize racing events with cash payouts and low, many times free entry fees. Hopefully we'll see you at the Import Face-Off on March 25th in Shreveport, LA (the info post is stickied at the top of this section). This'll make 3 events in a row if you compete and win at the Shreveport race!

Most don't realize it, but IFO is the biggest import event in almost every state and especially city it goes to. If it weren't for IFO, these states wouldn't have any import races with legitimate rules and classes.

Yeah IFO is one of the biggest ones we have at NPR. This weekend coming up we have the NHRA Cajun Challege, I don't ever remember this being here before so it should be a good one.

HybridMT- do you have anything to do with street trendz too?

/\ that won't be until September 30, but at Lamar Dixon, not NPR. Going to be an autox and drift event, no drag racing.
