You got fucked... 1000 dollars says you were not going over 100... if your going close to a speed that costs more, they will say you were going over it. The cost for going over 100 is more than going 95 so he probably fucked you to make the city some extra money...

I don't know a lawyer but I can tell you what a lawyer would do first before doing anything else. He's gonna set you up for a court date to fight the ticket. Then before your date, he's going to ask for a later court date because of some "personal or important family issue you have." He's going to do that as many times as he can get away with before they say no (usually 3).

But you can do all that yourself without a lawyer. From what I know and have seen, changing the court date once or twice is usually enough to **** over the dallas police because they are the most unorganized, illiterate, morons that ever put on a uniform... -1 for Dallas...

His exact words when he walked up to my car were "Son, if I had a set of steak knives, you'd be the winner."

Thumbs down

I think you are pretty lucky and I say this from experience.

I got popped years ago doing 130. I was getting my insurance and license together when I looked over and there was a 9mm pointed at me. The cop yelled for me to "GET OUT OF THE CAR ************!" and dragged me out the door when I opened it. He threw me to the ground and yelled all kinds of ****. There was a police helicopter shining lights on us and there was a local COPS type television program filming and they had their cameras in my face while I was on the ground with the cop's knee in my back. He cuffed me and threw me in the back of the cruiser. The show isn't on anymore (this was 1996-ish) but my friends used to like that episode - I thought it pretty much sucked ***.

The cop told me, "This is your Lucky Day! You aren't getting a ticket... you're going straight to Jail!"

Thats because 130 was probably over double the speed limit... But a gun for speeding? Thats bullshit, he was just making a show for the cameras...

How the hell do you morons get pulled over when going that fast? did you slow down for them so they could catch you? when you see a cop while at that speed, mash the gas, not the brake.

My wife's cousin is a Houston police officer. He said that there is no such law, exceeding the speed limit is not an arrestable offense. They can, however, arrest you for a myriad of other things, like reckless driving.

Quite simply, you may be able to outrun the cop -- but you cannot outrun the radio.

Reminds me of a few years back when one of the Supra guyts was going so fast that the cop thought he was actually trying to run. He saw the lights coming up pulled to the right lane and then the cruiser smashed him from behind. I wonder about the mindset of cops sometimes...
