Have you used...

First off I like to say I did do a search first.
I have an 85 GSL w/a street ported 6 port 13b (not sure what year it came out of) and a 600 holley. I cannot get it to run well and am looking to have it done right so it's more of a pleasure to drive my 7.
Anyway, has anyone had carb work done by Marvel Speed or by Ari at Rotary Performance? If so, what did it cost and are you satisfied with the results. I found out about some other shops such as BDC Motorsports and Gotham Racing while looking but they are a bit of a drive. Don't get me wrong, if they do great work at a reasonable price I'm all for it. Marvel's shop is about 30min from my house and a buddy of mine has done alot of business with Ari but no carb stuff so thats why I asked about them im particular.

Thanks alot,
AJ

I can't answer your question... but I just realized I've done some work on a 600 Holley, but it was on a 455 Olds.

what exactly is it doing? im sure someone here can help you over the web. once you figure out where a few different screws are at on the carb, you should be able to get it pretty well adjusted to make you happy.

I don't think RP works on first gens anymore. I would guess neither shop sees many carbs these days.

It has trouble getting up to speed. Stumbles, bucks and on the colder mornings, backfire. When up to speed it will almost always bogg if I give it gas but catch up. I don't know what kind of fuel pressure it's getting and it's on the stock pump. The carb is new so I doubt it needs a rebuild and like I said it's a 600 holley w/ vac. secondaries. The only screws I've seen are two mixture scews on the each side and the Idle screw. I know it's running rich cause the plugs are black and it will backfire when I kill it but I don't know what to do about it. I'm still trying to learn about all this. If y'all need more infor please tell me and I'll do my best.

Thanks,
AJ
