Free set of Cooper Tires for a Houston FD RX-7 owner.

Anyone know someone who has a 3rd gen (the last body style) RX-7 in the Houston area that is clean and in working condition? Cooper Tires is asking for one for their display at the Houston Grand Prix this weekend. It would be roped off from the public and monitored by models for the weekend so nothing would happen to it. The owner would have to loan his ride out from tomorrow until Monday, but they get a free set of Cooper Max Performance tires out of the deal. Send me a PM if you can help.

I know this is the first time I have posted here, but I am a regular poster on the RX-8 and Miata forums.

Mark, I emailed you the correct number for Pat.

Not sure if you got ahold of him. Last I heard they were waiting to hear from you... check your gmail for the #. Leaving East Tx in a couple of hours, see you at the races tonight.

same here, I saw some guy all in the engine compartment with both hands on the stock mount intercooler (XSPOWER right). So if anything is missing there is the place for finger printing.

Also this cute asian girl was playing kick ball with a beach ball really close!!!

Yeah, I saw a lot of that too!!! I was there today and they had it all closed up, park around the front of the semi and it looked pretty "finger-printed" up!!! Every other car there looked well taken care of (at all the booths) but the fd looked like they just pulled it in out of the parking lot.

The car was washed prior to the event. It was roped off for a bit, but the owner of the vehicle and Mazda agreed it wasn't necessary. There was always at least 1 Cooper Tire rep at the stand in addition to the models who were there most of the weekend. The RX-7 owner was so happy with how the event went he gave me a hug on Sunday night when he picked up the keys.

It is alright though if you are jealous that you didn't get to show off your RX to 160,000 people and get a free set of Max Performance tires

I hope you guys enjoyed the race!

I was approached for this but declined to show my very good looking very modified single turbo FD for the tires.

Why? Cooper High Peformance Tires, you got to be kidding! Maybe for my mothers 2005 Buick. DOH!

DOH!

Cooper is one of the sponsers and provides the tires.
Just because a company makes one special race product for a specific series does not mean their normal products are great.

Have you ever read/seen any street performance tire reviews/comparisons where Cooper are there or in the top?

And their web site design is pure crap!

Once again, DOH!

I heard. You didn't have to keep the tires. 2 of the cars used for the display got their original tires put back on after the race weekend for free.

I wanted to include Pat's car also, but Cooper only had one set of Zeon 2XS in the FD's size.

I guess I will skip posting here next time I need to display an FD or have something to give away.

The final attendance numbers were over 168,000 for the weekend.

Well let me know if you need to display an FB that's show quality, I won't turn my nose up at free Coopers. FD drivers are very particular, to a fault at times.

Hey do not get the wrong idea [from me at least], I asked you to put my car in. Anyways I was hoping I could get free tickets inside at least. I ended up sitting on the kirby overpass watching the cars come out of turn 5 and take 6. Still cool in my book.
