I tried this in a City of Dallas Court. Once. Bad things man...

It would take several paragraphs to explain the whole thing but let me say, I will NEVER fight a ticket again. Texas has too many options to avoid the insurance consequences. The judge had the whole system rigged to f--k me up. The entire process spanned a year. I had to stand in line for 2 hrs with the hookers and crackheads at the county courthouse basement ATM to get $400 cash for a cash bond. There was a $10 ATM fee to boot (Boy, exactly what don't you unnerstand about a cash bond?) He even offered to throw me in jail for perjury after changing my plea from not guilty to guilty. (Well, Boy, were you lyin' then, or are you lyin' now? And remember you are still under oath!)

I was 40 yrs old and this dinosaur was calling me 'Boy'. My time is worth too much to get stuck in the Court House basement or in jail for perjury.

Good Luck.

Arrow Guilty Sucker!

Sorry for not updating the thread sooner, Bottom line, I was found guilty! I did get a reduced fine.

Cop showed up with two city attorneys for a simple traffic ticket, maybe all the documents I subpoena scared him) cop have me on tape saying "I apologize for speeding" The reason why I said that is the cop said I was speeding.

It took the Jury 45 mins to find me guilty? I think I was able to prove the officer was not qualified to operate the radar gun installed on the motorcycle BUT what I said did me in.

My recommendation for anybody pulled over for speeding:

#1. Never admit guilt, say nothing, cops have a mic on them and record the conversation

#2. Always plead not guilty and fight the ticket

Slap me silly and call me stupid, but the time spent going to court, parking the car, waiting till your case is called, getting caught on tape admitting speeding (embarrassment of lying in court), 45 minutes for jury decision, waiting in line again to pay the fine and then driving back to work or home, is not worth $300, much less $100.

For sure, you showed that LEO not to mess with you again.

What a waste of tax payers money.

You sound like I reached in your pocket and took money out I don't mind my city having to pay the jurors to give me or anyone else a trial.

The point of this thread was to possibly help somebody out, Not to answer your questions so you can find anything to pick at smart guy

You do get it.
The OP missed my point, but then again, he goes to court to help others.
I admire his altruism.

Aplaud the guy for telling his story, period, everyone learns something from it.

Anyone that says they would find someone guilty just because, well, sounds like someone that's had their *** kicked alot and probably hasn't grown up yet ... yeh, we know you, and all of us know you haven't grown up yet, and maybe some of us are a little jealous.

Almost lastly, just my opinion, but the whole traffic cop industry blows dog. Exceeding a bs speed limit is no justification for a citation, if we are doing something unsafe and putting folks at risk I can man up and take it, but what about all those losers that put us at risk by driving slow, in the fast lane, not using signals, driving a pos that cannot stop/turn/etc, not knowing where they are going, distracted by whatever, not using their mirrors so they change lanes in front of us as we are about to fly by them in the fast lane, frustrating suck *** drivers.

Traffic cops and traffic courts are just about the money so it influences everyone else to be just about the money. I fight every ticket with prepaid legal reps thru the wife's job, I thank the cop for doing what they do after I get the ticket, then hold my criticism as the court system mocks us with their arrogance making us wait for hours just to get **** thrown out or pled down or whatever. It's just a business to create cashflow for municipalities. My last deferred ticket require I wait a half day in court all because my lawyer pled the case offline with the prosecutor before the court date (total bs), then I had to go back two weeks later to pay the fee and sign that I had not received a another ticket in the two week period. Total crap, what a power trip some of these bozos are on. So it was two 2-hour round trip commutes, 5 hours in court, and still had to pay $$$.

Speed limits haven't modernized to meet the capability of cars, instead they continue to dumb it down to the lowest common denominator citizen that feels the need to be protected by the man. System is farked.

Just like the one above on post #42.
Get your power trip Bitch, I mean Rich and do your thing to get your useless count up.
I rather be a mean SOB, as you call me, than having a rampant Napoleonic Complex and Superiority Complex like you.
See ya'll at the "other" forum, this one has been going down a long time ago.
Besides, I get all my info and problems solved by "The Real Rotary Guru's of Rotary Performance"(RX7.COM), not from a ''Wannabe" like you.
And you wish you knew, as much as they have forgotten.
So, ban away, Bitch, I mean Ritch(same anyways).

*I can't belive, how many years it took for this to happen.

TX Good Information

I agree with the previous posts about going to the courthouse and hoping the cop does not show up. At the very least you can get defensive driving or deferred adjudication if not a reduced fine.

I used to just pay the fine. This way I feel like I am getting a little something back for all of the taxes that I pay.
