FD questions for Houston Owners

Hey guys, as you can see I've been a member for a long time and had several 2nd gens but moved on a few years ago. Now that I'm older and have a late 20's crisis I'm feeling the rotary bug bad again. I want to pick up an FD in the next year or two but my main concern is not that I won't find a good one I can wait till the perfect one pops up locally. But I really want to know what my limits are because I want a modded FD that can pass our **** harris county emmissions/saftey inspection. So what are my options, I want to build the car to 350 to 400 hp using modded twins or a smaller single. Is this possible? Or would I need to find a shop to 'pass' the car with a little andrew jackson influence? I dont want to have to do that. I would of asked in the 3rd gen forum but I'll get eaten alive by people saying I didnt search. I did search and came up with nothing. I know i'm very limited in my options for this type of build so anyone with Houston experience please let me know what type of mods you were able to get away with.

Thanks in advance

Come to the meet this next Tuesday and ask for Chuck (cewrx7r1). He'll tell you everything you need to know.....and you can drool over his car some too.

It can be done with even a single turbo if the ports are stock or small. Remove the MP and re-install the cat, map, and plugs for testing.

You have to fine a good shop with reliable test equipment because it is difficult to get their crappy equipment to work properly and accurately with a rotary engine.
Even so a clean engine might fail because their equipment is not maintained. They tend to want to do OBD-2 cars even if the have the old dyno test equipment. Some shops only do OBD-2 cars.

I'm going to take a nice drive up into the piney woods and get mine inspected. Failing that, I expect Mr. Franklin will get it sorted out.
