El Paso?

Hey, anyone here from the El Paso area? I'm in Las Cruces, NM which is less than an hour away. Maybe I can show up for a meet and chill out with some other rotary owners; I'm starting to go through withdrawls from not being able to see my NorthWestern rotary buddies (I'm originally from WA) and there's not a whole lot in Cruces.

I don't think your search for rotary companionship in the LC area is going to be very successful. There are a number of 7 owners around, but no one seems interest hanging out with each other. I suppose as our reasons for driving 7s are highly varied (and unless you speak Spanish, there is a language barrier in some cases).

If you're into racing check out:

I think they have some stuff planned for this weekend (23rd).

Thanks for the link to the raceway in Deming; didn't know there was one over there and it's pretty close. Know of any car club sites for the LC/El Paso area?

I've been tempted to drive up to CO for a meet or two of theirs but it's quite a ways, sadly. Not like from Portland, OR to Olympia, WA.

I've never hear of any car clubs (other than low riders).

That's one crazy idea going to CO, I just got back and besides being a very long drive, the road conditions in the southern part of CO are horrible, luckily I wasn't driving a 7.

If you're willing to drive a bit, head up to http://www.rotaryrx.com/ it seems like people are always hanging out up there. Also, you could head over to Tucson or Phoenix (http://www.rccaz.com/), which are far closer than CO.

Thanks again. I drove down here from Washington in my RX (went right through CO) and the roads didn't seem that bad. The poor thing's been through much worse in WA, the roads are aweful up there.

Hey, I'm Nick. I live in El Paso and go to UTEP, but I'm originally from Las Cruces. I've been trying forever to get a hold of RX owners. Especially from Las Cruces, I stay there and hang out weekends. I'll try to keep in touch on this web site but if you want to get together and do something, my email is nnillo@utep.edu.
