I got a speeding ticket in carrollton...can anybody recommend a lawyer?

 

Deferred Adjudication or Defensive Driving School will be cheaper and neither goes to your record.
Defensive DS will get you a discount in your insurance.
Now, if you were DWI or way above the (20mph) the speed limit, your SOL.
Either is going to cost you.

 

Alleged 60 in a 35...25 over...the limit for the driving class is no more than 24 over. Its actually in Dallas County.

 

do yourself a favor , buy a good radar.

I would be happy with paying fines and taking a drivers course. I haven't had a ticket in 12 years.

The officer on the side of the road was like... I will write it for this speed so you can take the drivers course. I guess his math didn't add up too well for me.

It was actually on a service road. I turned onto the service road and started to accelerate expecting a highway on ramp to appear...the cop appeared before the on ramp did.

I wasn't like I was in a a residential neighborhood.

It would be shameful and make him look like a fool twice, first what he said and then, not knowing how to substract, in front of a judge?!?!?

I think the best outcome would be the judge see's that I have a super clean record and am 1 mph over what it takes for the drivers course and does that for me.

But at this point it is either fight it or pay it. ( since all other options are unavailable because of my speed. ) They both cost about the same so the choice is clear.

I think that, if you can plea bargain with the DA, he might let you go to school.
Just tell the truth about, how motorcycles accelerate very quickly.
You were going on to a ramp, so speed is critical for survival on a bike, and since drivers(cagers) don't see us, you were more aware of joining traffic, than the speed you were going.
Hope you get a reasonable DA and can make this happen, you don't need a lawyer for this. The DA will probably talk to you before going to the judge, so you can be candid with him/her.
