Carter's car is coming back to life
Well, development keeps moving forward. Made enough HP that i slipped the Centerforce clutch that Carter put in it less than 8k miles ago.
Got a new F1 stage 3 to install this next week, then i can finish tuning it out. And i bought it new wheels for my Bday!
15x7 w +25 offset front 205/50/15
15x8 w +15 offset rear 225/50/15

update- lets go for more boost!
Got the new clutch the other day- Funny thing, i ordered a F1 stage 3 for an 83-91 13b non-turbo rx7. An Exedy box showed up...???
any one else see this occurance? I was told that F1 is actually a clearing house for all the Exedy stock that never moves....?
Removal of the trans wenet super easy, as usual, but i was just checking everything out to make sure i wasn't missing something. The Center Force looks brand-freaking-new. Carter put less than 9k miles on it. No hot spots, no warping. Guess it just doesn't like 10psi spikes, and hates 11psi.
FYI, if you buy an F1 clutch (or Exedy, i guess, hell whatever), don't be suprised when the Throw-out bearing makes an almost scraping sound when it first starts up. I was about to rip the trans back out, until all the sudden with a few clutch stabs, it got quiet.
Gotta be nice to it for 500 miles (whatever...), then we can tune for real boost. I went exactly 150 yards till i nailed 2nd gear, and it didn't slip, but i guess i should try to be an adult...
Sam and all the guys at A&B Autocenter have made this much easier for me. Without him guiding me, i'm sure i would have blown this thing by now. He is the man. that and he's crazy enough to ride in the car, watching the Laptop, Boost and Wideband, while i am driving. Nice thing about a stock geared 1st gen, 3rd gear is barley fast enough to get a ticket!
P.S.- anyone need a Center Force for a 13b N/A- it's still got a ton of life on it- and it's cheap- !st case of Landshark, or a bottle of American Honey gets it!

Here is the pic of the box that the clutch cam in, and some of the exhaust arrangement.
a word on rotary exhaust. They SUCK! it is a stage 3 pain in the *** to make a rotary not offend the ears. I bought this muffler for the center of the car to knock some of the tin-can sound out of it. Problem is, this muffler acutally rings!
i am gonna have to order a heavy, stainless pack, big volume muffler that costs more than i really want to spend in order to make it sound good, and not explode the muffler off it at the first backfire when tuning!
here is a better look at my Down pipe and Waste gate

Sam and I are gonna tune it some time this week, and after I get an honest break-in on the clutch, we will go dyno it. I still think 350 should be my cut off, but we will see.
