Carter's car is coming back to life

He said "for sale"

I said "Sold!"

Sam and I are now making changes that Eric wanted to do anyway.

This car is too nice to let leave the "family"

Here are some under-construction pics

Whoo hoo! progress!!

in case anyone doesn't recall what it looked like back in the heyday of the DFW RX7 crew...

or when being put to good use...

Very glad to see it going to good use rather than collecting even more dust in my garage!

did we all grow up? or did we just not recover as well anymore?

I bet Cavel is the only one that still looks at 3 am as he comes in, not as he's changing a diaper...

Hip is fine. The knees are what's a killer. Too many trips over pit wall. New profession is much kinder to the body.

That's in the karaoke bar at City Streets on one of our Thursday night adventures.... Circa 2003...

I have a ton of those on a flash drive somewhere too... Man, the memories!

Clint - here's one for you... Recall one Valentine's day and BING! with the chopsticks?

Yeah.. found the chopsticks from that night in the door pocket of the Rx-7 when I was cleaning it out... How's *that* for a flashback??

Just about done

OK, Sam and I got the install complete, and fired it up.
At first, it smoked so bad, I thought the locals were going to call the Fire Dept. Turns out, we needed to restrict the oil line to the turbo alot more. Did that, and it smoked less, but still enough to be a bother.
Relocated the turbo drain from the OMP hole to a hole we made in the front cover. MUCH BETTER!

Got it running and it has a bit of an Ignition issue (only with the trailing plugs), but it's definitely TURBO'ed!

Ran a few pulls at 10psi this afternoon. Pig-rich, but gets moving quick. Played an old Camaro, but nothing real illegal. Just testing the waters...

More pics.

Huge Thanks to Sam and all the guys at A&B autocenter. Without him, I would have just parked that car and dreamed about what could be...

PS. 205's are not enough tire. 1st gear is a waste of time.

Seat-of-the-pants dyno feels like 225-250hp.
My goal is 14psi or 350HP- which ever comes first.

The clutch slipped a bit on a long 5th gear pull, and spiking just over 10psi. It was running about 9.8-10.2 O2, so there is alot still on the power.
We are going to dyno it at Steve's shop (in Lewisville, i think) Saturday. I just hope the clutch holds up for a few pulls.
