Before My FD, There Was ....
Lake Cities Rotary street ported 12A with steel 14 lb flywheel.
Weber 45DCOE in a ram cold air induction box.
Modified advance curve distributor.
Modified suspension.
RB race limited slip differential.
Was a Camero/Mustang killer in it's day.

Thanks for the memories. That reminds me like yourself that I too went down that same path..
( I still like your current ride better, except we need those louvers again!)
My 83 BP with TWM 50's RB duel with Mazda comp lava rock muffler. The Aluminum flywheel, race diff, last deep dish Panasports, race clutch.
Yep...it made some big motors cry

FD's are great but I wouldn't want to own one if I didn't have the funds to keep it running. I like the FC's because it is what I can afford atm and looks great to me. If money wasn't a problem I would defiantly have an FD.
My Brother just bought a 1st gen for $500 and it is in immaculate condition chuck. It is red with a few blemishes, like in two spots with a little paint fade. Other than that it is great condition. It is a 85 GSL. Any advice about 1st gens that I can pass on to him?

Time for porting and or turbo charging.
He must keep the two drain holes at the back corners of the rear hatch clear. If not, they will rust out.
U have to talk to my bro about that one Chuck lol. I think he just wants to DD for now I don't know what he plans to do with it yet. He is not the fast car type and I was really surprised when he decided to get a 1st gen or RX-7 at all. He wanted a FD but he doesn't have FD money so this will do for now.

Parts of it did return to me for fixing as they were sold as parts to another FB owner in the club. This was about 3 years ago. Pic below.
