Question What is needed to Single Turbo an RX7?

Hey guys,

I'm interested in converting my twin turbos to a single turbo, probably a GREDDY T-78. Everything I have is basically stock except exhaust (Apexi N1). I was wondering what else I needed to do to my car so that adding this turbo doesn't destroy my FD and in what order I should do them in?

There is a sweet function on this forum, it is located up on the top right side of your screen, click on "search" type in T78 & I am sure you will find complete answers to all your questions/concerns.

I noticed you are from Columbus. Maybe we can chat sometime . Head over to http://www.columbusracing.com, and check out meetings, etc. This type of question I will not answer unless it is in person, because there are so many options, variables, preferences, and compromises to consider when planning an upgrade path. In person I can talk plenty fast though . My roomate and I have both have turbo FCs (undergoing some crazy surgury at the time). There are a few FDs here in Columbus as well, and although not nearly as knowledgeable about general rotary power, they can be helpful in helping you formulate opinions, and 3rd gen specific advise.

If you do not want to meet in person, do what RICE suggests... SEARCH

If you are going with the t-78 kit it pretty much comes with all you need.. since you will be getting more air.. you will need more fuel.. upgrade or add injectors.. higher flowing fuwl pump.. rr fpr.. and a stand alone ecu would be nice as well.. Oh yeah.. the thing you need the most is MONEY.... knowledgable tunner to fine tune that bad boy wouldn't hurt either... and perhaps a street port would be a plus... I hear it's not a must but if you plan on boosting higher then stock. (which you will i'm sure.. it's a t-78) than a street port would be great... And while the engine is apart it woulnd't hurt to get bigger or stronger seals ... and stonger clutch.. hehe you get the point.. alot more than you think... I'm sure i left out a thing or 2.. so the search function would come in handy. Single turbo setup's have been discussed alot here..=) good luck
