What do you think of this turbo?

I recently purchased a front clip From japan for a N/A-> TII swap

it had an R-magic Grounding kit and R_magic oil filter...

it also had this turbo:

So i Checked the Rmagic products and found these two turbo's:

it kinda looks the same to me...

unfortunately I can't read the info... Can anyone Translate?

but the dyno sheets look quite generous... the turbo kinda looks like a t04b to me...

can it really push 380 hp at 1bar properly tuned?

The motor has redtop low impedence injectors... I wonder if it has a Rom chip in it... there was no markings on the outside of the ecu.. but according to RR's tech site... they should be high impedence purple tops...

I didn't pull the manifold just to get their part number.. too much effort and i didn't wanna damage the intake gasket.

I don't think someone like Rmagic would put an upgraded hybrid on a bone stock ecu

suggestions.. comments?

its R magic or fam speed set

Its a set like knight sports, Fam Speed, and R Magic sell. use the computer, wireing harness, turbo, injectors, and downpipe as is. make sure you use premium though as it will be tuned for premium fuel (premium in japan runs from 97~103 octane).

Think its RON

Think its RON, not sure though, PM me tomorrow and remind me and I will check when I buy gas.

The setup is a good setup, night sports uses a hybrid assembled by Turbonetics, not sure where the other two get theres. but they tend to be solid, completely streetable, and low cost compared to a single setup w/wastegate/mani etc.

its probably just like a bnr stage 2 or 3. Should make some good hp out of it. here is some hybrid turbo info for second gens. Everyone seems to fallow each other on these hybrids so this may answer a few questions. http://www.bnrturbos.com/2ndGen.htm

well you will have fun with it either way. I liked both my stage 3 and stage 4 but of course it only kept me happy for a few months, lol.

to be honest with you. I've had 3 hybrids two of witch where bnr and the other was more like I guess a stage 1 (stock compressor housing) but it was made somewhere else. The first one I had felt faster than the stage 3 and 4 so I guess it was less linear than the other turbos. The stage 3 felt good and the stage 4 felt a bit better. I was having troubles with my motor when I was using it but I had it tuned by steve and it had around 350rwhp. Felt really good and while we where on the highway tuning it I would pass people like it was nothing. I even roasted the tires in 1st and 2nd and got a chirp out of 3rd so it was definatley powerful. Like I said though I was having problems though as I was getting about a quarter extra in my oil every 2 to 3 days. turns out it was caused by my side seals so that naturally caused me to take the motor down and have it rebuilt. I never installed the stage 4 after that as I was ready for more horsepower. I'm the type of guy that thinks "it's never fast enough" so it was just a matter of time before I went full turbo upgrade.

for the stage 1 I was using 550's and 720's with an safc. The stage 3 I was using 720cc x4 with an rtek 1.7 and with the stage 4 I was using 850cc primary and 890cc secondary and a microtech lt8.

What is your goal? The best thing to think about is that this turbo is cheap however it is limmited in the amount of boost you can run and how much power you can have. They do spool quickly and make good power for the price though. I was at 17psi and it was bleeding off to 15 at 7-7.5k rpm.
