I recently replaced one of my age old stainless braided lines that came with my greddy wastegate because it developed a leak (bullet proof my *** ) I used some good silicon/viton hose I purchased a while back from speedmachine and wrapped it with an adhesive fiberglass insulation with aluminum coating. Its the stuff that comes in a sheet.
If I were to buy something for the purpose of covering lines, I'd get some of that thermal sleeving stuff. What I used works, but its hard to get the hose to bend after wards.
I also tie-wired it on. zip ties will get (and have gotten) brittle and cracked after only 3,000kms.
sheeting i used (similar to this prodcut, not this exact one however):

what I would probably use were I to buy it with this purpose in mind:
http://www.speedmachineperformance.c...p/hp235012.htm
or

Not saying I'd buy them from speedmahince either. Just trying to show you what I mean
