Are wastegates suposed to let a little exhaust out at idle?

Are wastegates suposed to let a little exhaust out at idle?

like the title says, mine has a little coming out of it at idle, is it supposed to?

A wastegate only lets exhaust out at or above a pre-set boost level. Your engine would not be making ANY boost at idle, and therefore no, the wastegate should stay completely closed.

you must have the lines mixed up or running a vacume source rather than a boost source....

The valve might not be seated properly if it is worn.

gasket between the manifold and the wastegate might be gone?

When I first installed my XS T04E kit, the wastegate was leaking at idle. Apparently the valve wasn't seating properly as it stopped after driving the car alittle bit. Guess it needed to be 'broken in'.

Mine is a HKS Racing Wastegate, are there any adjustments i can do or sent it off to get rebuilt?
