Very quick fuel pump question.

87 TII

Streetport
Holset H1E/Turblown Manifold
Haltech e6x
1000/1600cc injectors
Aluminum rails, braided stainless lines, marren fpr, etc.
Planning on running e85

Looking to eventually put down 350-400whp on a fairly budget minded build.

Looking for a single, in tank pump, if possible. Twin pumps and a surge tank are expensive.

I think the Supra pump + boostapump can accomplish this fairly easily.

I plan on getting just the pump until I get it broken in and start tuning it, then I can add the BAP fairly easily.

Any comments?

I'm running dual stock pumps in tank. Something like that Should be enough for your needs.

A Walbro 255 will be enough for your needs. It also costs under $100.

I would stay with the Supra Fuel Pump. I've heard bad things about the Walbro and some findings have been backed up, that's enough for me to steer away from it in a rotary.

The bad one's you've probably heard about were the fake knock off's from Ebay. Real Walbros work great. Mine has been running for quite some time now with no problems.

I don't thing a single walbro or supra tt pump will be enough to support 400hp on e85. Even with a boost-a-pump. Why not run a dual intank setup in parallel?

that seems like a really low power goal for E85. not worth the money and trouble.

I don't have to run e85, I'm just trying to do everything I can to prevent detonation. Setting the power goal low, overbuilding everything, I'm sure the boost will get turned up at some point.

I guess I had no idea you could put more than one pump in tank. The fuel lines are garbage so I'll be running my own copper hardlines from the tank to the front anyways.

Two stock in-tank pumps in parallel will do this? Stock TII? FD?

I'm running stock fd pumps. Whats the flow difference between t2 and fd pumps? I saw a chart somewhere that had the flow rates of alot of pumps, but don't recall where it is.

i bought the walbro and was find until 350whp. Now i bought the supra pump and have 429whp. i think you can push close to 500whp with a supra pump and a rewired job. Save time and money and buy the supra pump right off the bat

On E-85 a Bosch -044 is only good for about 380whp...so a Walbro is definitely not enough.

I would guess twin fd pumps would be good for at least 450 hp on e85.

I think e85 requires around 30 percent more fuel. Maybe someone that actually runs it can say if that's right or not. If it is correct then just subtract 30 percent from the known standard gasoline power capacities for a given pump(s).

A single supra pump would only be good for around 350 hp on e85 but dual supra pumps is another option, if you plan on going for big power later. For now twin fd pumps will get you there and cost under $100. It requires some fabricating skill but is easy enough.
