Updated lines, fittings, etc.

OK I have updated the lines and fittings in the kits, these fittings of course will all be available seperately for those of you who already have your own turbos

I also will be offering a package to current a-spec kit owners who wish to update what they have to the better fitting, nicer stuff, just shoot me a email for that info.

The oil drain fittings will fit very tight spaces and are made with a smaller footprint than others and angled to acheive this. They can be used on either side of the turbine inlet. They are made with a -10 male end on them. They can be used on the front cover as well. I have these for the larger drain flange(TO4R,42R etc.) as well.

I updated the coolant lines with high temp (1200deg) shielded lines also, this was to address some customers concerns of heat effecting the coolant lines from sitting so close to the turbine and manifolds.

These updates will not increase the cost of the kits, it was done siply to offer a better product by listening to what our customers wanted to see in their kits.

I need you guys to shoot me a email telling me which manifold and turbo you have.

Madee it is very likely if your running the short runner 40R kit that fitment may not work as of yet. I haven't checked to see if the actual drain fitting for that CHRA works with turbine placement on that setup. I haven't sold that setup in quite awhile. Coolant lines wont be a problem.

Also the new lines will be warranted the same as the manifolds and DP which is as long as you own them. Just send me the old lines for inspection and new ones will be sent out once there is proof of honest failure. Forgot to add that.

Hopefully more pics showing them mounted on the the engine and turbo assembly soon.

Sean, you guys are great. Thank you so much for putting the time into this. It makes your kits that are already VERY nice kits into something even more impressive. I will shoot you an email about the lines on my 500r kit.

Here you go pics of the drain for our short runner customers(first pic) as well as pics for the long runner customers. All kits will come setup like this from now on, along with the upgraded coolant lines. This includes FC kits, RHD kits, 20B kits etc.

Mike,

I would email Sean as he gets A LOT of PMs and checks his email more frequently. Much easier to get a hold of him via email than through PM.

Is anyone using the new oil drain line with the oil pump installed? I just got the new drain line and tried to install it. The threaded end of the fitting that bolts to the engine ends up touching the wires coming out of the connector for the oil pump. As a result, I can't screw the drain line onto the fitting. The oil pump connector ends up preventing it from going on. Any suggestions from anyone?

It appears the setups in the pictures don't use the oil pump.

You are correct, I was stumped for a minute too. I ended up using the extension that is used with the stock turbos to come out a bit and clear the pump... Worked perfect, but I still haven't hooked any lines yet...

Hmmm... I'll try that, but I'm guessing that the line won't fit if we do that, though who knows.

Scratch what I said earlier...I tightened everything down yesterday and you DON'T need that stock extension. Yes, the new fitting does touch the wires on the OMP connector, but it's not so bad... hand tighten the hose to the new fitting first and then bolt down the new fitting to the block. VERY tight fit, but it works...

Hmmm... Any thoughts about whether having the wires touch the fitting could cause the wires to burn? I'd be worried about melting the insulation on the wire, and then having them ground themselves on the fitting.

Hmmm... good point. I can't imagine an oil line getting soooo hot as to burn the wires. But I can imagine the wires getting brittle from long periods of high heat like under the UIM. Well, I guess I'll try sliding something in between to insualte the wire maybe... I'll let you know what I do. Better yet, I'll take pics.
