Update: Race Tonight, Ebay Single Kit

So i raced and lost to my brothers mr2 turbo tonight. I lost by 2-3 cars to about 110.
Im running the ebay single kit on 5psi.

Hes running:
blitz nurspec exhaust
apexi intake
gutted downpipe
some throttle body inlet
spec clutch
and a boost controller set at 15psi.
It also ran 1/4 @ 14.5 its first time at the track.

I dont think the FD did half bad for only 5psi.

I really shoudl get a boost controller and turn it up to 10 psi at least and see what happens then. If not...i could always order the 1 bar spring and put that in. har har har.

Get that boost up and give it another run. I bet you'll take him with 5 more pounds! Keep us updated with your setup. D

haha or if he wasnt my brother id turn the boost up a good 20 psi and watch as i see chunks of piston fly out his tailpipe. jk haha.

u think i cud take him with 5 more psi. I think at 10 the turbo would be alot more efficent.

If you are running 5 psi on a single turbo you should have just stuck with the stock twins. You would be making more power and have a better power band. Turn it up to 15 or 20+ psi and give it another shot if you have the proper modifications and tuning.

lol. i dont plan on running 5 psi all the time, i just dont have a boost controller yet. and im still breaking in the motor at 1,500 rpm. I dont plan on upping the boost to 10+ until i hit 2,000-2,500

Why did you race someone if you are still breaking in the motor, doesn't sound like the best idea to me.

and im only shifting at 6,500 - 7,000.

Not even close to redline.

1500 miles has always been broken in enough for me. Turn up the boost and see what she can do.

Your motor is broken in, no debate there.
