Arrow turbo rebuild questions

How difficult is it to rebuild a water cooled, non BB t4? My turbo has some side to side shaft play but zero in and out. It doesn't contact the housings at all.

I've searched many places but can't find anywhere short of eBay that offers rebuild kits. Are the ones on eBay good? My turbonetics turbo is big shaft and includes a 360* thrust bearing, so i would need a rebuild kit specific to this? Would I need a "complete" rebuild or just the "minimal" rebuild kits also sold on eBay? Also if I'm using the same wheels would the assembly need balanced again?

Also one of the turbine blades has a small piece that looks like it was eroded away, it is about half the size of a grain of rice, I wouldn't need to replace the wheel just for this would I (it's a $492 Q-trim wheel)?

How much side to side shaft play is "unacceptable". I was told mine is fine to use, but if for a couple hundred I can rebuild it so it lasts longer that would be great.

one last thing, if it needs balanced or is something that should be left to professionals can someone please direct me to a good, cheap turbo rebuilder in the northeast?

Thanks for putting up with my noob questions.

It's probably fine. If you can push(not too hard) the compressor against the housing, and fit a couple thousandths feeler gauge in there, you are fine.

how many thousands? what about the slight turbine wheel damage?

I'd really like to rebuild it since I have the time and would like to know the inner workings. But I'd like to do it all myself and not have to send it off to be balance. I rechecked the ebay kits, they don't come with the 360* thrust bearing. I would probably have to buy that from turbonetics.

how much would I be lookign at for a complete quality rebuild kit, and where should I look to get it from?

Thanks for the quick answers Carl
