Turbo.. WHICH ONE!?!

Im not trying to sound like all the rest, because i have searched for my question and i really can't pinpoint it anywhere. Heres the thing I want to go single because i will be doing autocross and i dont want the spike going to the second turbo spooling to keep kicking me out sideways. I also want more power. I found this link and i know that their manifolds are crap but they dont make this turbo i dont think:

Cheap Ball Bearing Turbo "T70"

If that isn't a good choice, what turbo kit should i go for or turbo atleast for 400 horsepower on 91-93 pump gas and be able to run atleast 11.9's. I am getting a Haltech ecu soon and i want to know if custom turbo back exhuast 3" will sufice and if i should make my own manifold or buy that. I am so knew to rotary but it's exciting. I know a decent amount about them but not upgrading them. I work at a garage and we do custom exhuast's so the turbo back isn't an issue, but the manifold and turbo placement tells me to purchase a manifold.

Also i would appreciate if you all told me what setup to run for 11.9's or better with a single turbo that spools at lower rpms. I plan on FMIC, and injectors and such just dont which ones to get. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

That turbo's a bit big for what you want I think - it will make more power than necessary to run 11.9's (which isn't necessarily a bad thing ), but it won't hit full boost until 4500-5000rpm.

Re: Turbo.. WHICH ONE!?!

I'd be careful buying anything from that company.. doesnt look like a garrett turbo to me.. probably some low quality "South America" turbo..
They company doesnt even state there physical address... seems sort of shady to me

im sure its "cheap"... as in quality!

There was an ebay auction with an ssautochrome turbo a week or so ago, and in some of the pictures of the turbo you could see 'made in taiwan' on the compessor housing

Get a small to moderate sized single (T04E, etc.) if you plan to AutoX. I think the T70 would be way too big for your intended usage.

And really, I would keep the sequentials if you can get the transition to be smooth enough, since you can't beat the low RPM spool of the seq twins. Perhaps some BNR upgraded ones or something would be good to meet your peak power goals.

That's just too good to be true. I wouldn't buy it. Do they give a guarantee or something?

My TD06 runs 12.5 on street tires at 8to 9lbs of Boost.
and thats with no accurate tunning stock injestors and fuel pump. So Im sure with tuning it might hit a 12.1 or lower

You would have to push that turbo in the above link to get at least 400rwhp (if you could even get it). If you read the specs, it says the compressor wheel is a 60.5mm

Anyway, that turbo has been discussed on this forum before. Search for it...

I have been told that it is not ball bearing and that ssautochrome is full of it. The turbo comes from charlotte turbo and was not made in taiwan and no where on the compressor housing does it say that. I believe it was made in Brazil. It also uses a t3 flange. Its not even close to the size of a garret or turbonetics t70 so throw the "its too big" idea out the window.

Good point 0110-M-P. 919 is Raleigh. I would watch out for ssautochrome too though. They seem to be really shady. Anything in the RX-7 world that looks too good to be true usually is from my experiences.

As far as wanting a good quick spooling AutoX setup that can net you 400rwhp and 11.9 1/4 mile runs... Talk to Bryan at BNR. I have seen dyno sheets for his Stage 3 twins running non-sequentially. They are capable of 400whp, easily capable of 11.9 1/4's, and will spool almost as fast as the stock twins running sequential. Just thought I'd throw that in there for you. Best of luck man.

autocross and that turbo do not work well together. You can run 11.9 on stock twins if you want. For your application you should opt for either the rx6 or the gt35/40.

Full boost -> , as in the point at which the boost that you want (have it set at) 14-17 psi typically, is attained, anything before than is less, anything after could be more but is stypically regulated by the wastegate...
