Turbo nubcake

Hey, I'm fairly new to the whole turbo (spare the term) community. I just bought my first turbo rotary, not first rotary engine and most of the links for turbo info are broken. Would a turbo controller be a good start for my stock turbo? Are turbo timers really a big waste I mean all a person has to do Is let the car idle for 3 min right?

Turbo timers are a waste of money, as letting your car idle for 3 minutes is a waste of gas. Unless you've been driving the crap out of the car, you'll be fine turning it off right away.

I'm guessing you're driving a TII? If you are, a good place to start that won't cost you an arm and leg is bigger secondary injectors (720 should be fine for a stock turbo), a boost controller, an FCD, exhaust + intake combo, and some way to modify your AFRs.

But I'd get a compression check before you buy any parts. Don't want to blow a bunch of money on that stuff if you're not going to be able to use it.

+1
I just take it easy the last mile or so before turning it off, it should be fine.

As for boost control, just take a screw-type valve to your wastegate line, and you should be able to up the boost to what you want. I wouldnt turn it up until you know what youre doing though. You need extra fuel with the added air, so get somesort of fuel management system. I suggest Rtek 2.0, full fuel and timing control, as well as sensor readouts, and plug and play easy install

Good deal, the car has Rtec 2.0 but the old owner let the batterys go dead so it lost the prog. The car has had the smogg pulled off and had the RB down pipe y-pipe extra. As for the other stuff i'm trying to find out what has changed over stock. First think I will do is complete a commpression test. I dont think it will be bad considering the engine was rebuild by Higgi

the ecu maps are stored in the ecu, they will stay programmed even w/o battery power. The pda just pulls the maps from the ecu when it displays them

if your talking about the pda software, try the pocketlogger website, but Im not sure what thier policy is on distributing their software

I also am a turbo-nubcake. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the advantages to running a single turbo are, as opposed to a twin turbo?
