A'PEXi turbo info:
Go to: http://world.altavista.com/
And put this URL into the Translate a Web Page section; choose the "Japanese to English" translation option: http://www.apexi.co.jp/products/turb...01_turbine.htm
It looks like the AX75 is not ball bearing, but rather has floating bearings. It also looks like it has a much bigger exhaust side than the RX6, which is a good thing.
I just grenaded my engine (dumb tuning mistake), so I'm considering my turbo options under the assumption that my RX6 is dead. I haven't made any decisions yet, but it will probably be either a straight replacement turbo unit for my RX6, or I'll piece something together myself. The abradable compressor housing sounds nice, but is there anything else that is "special" about the AX75 turbo?

I don't think the AX75 would bolt to the RX6 manifold. The AX75 has a T4 flange, I think.
I'll probably just get another RX6, or maybe do a whole new setup with a T66 or something. I'm not sure yet. I am hoping that my turbo is okay, but I doubt it so I'm considering my options. I won't do anything until I know for sure, though.
I blew it by leaning it out too much and got some detonation (seemed like ign misses, rather than popcorn). But it still worked okay besides having a paint-shaker idle. Bumped my idle RPM up a bit and kept driving it for a while. Then I was on the highway (which means nearly parked in SoCal) on a hot day. I got to my exit and punched it and pop-pop-pop. The engine stalled. I restarted it with my momentum, and then limped it to Mazdatrix. It barely had enough power to move the car. I would have guessed that it wouldn't start again, but I guess it still starts right up from talking to Mazdatrix.

I do have a wideband, but it wasn't reading correctly. I think it is in a spot that it too hot or has too much pressure in my exhaust (right after the turbo). It seems to read properly most of the time, but it would indicate "richer than 10:1" whenever I got into boost. Moving the bung to the end of the downpipe will be a part of the rebuild process.

I'm gettin ready to sell my 98' Eclipse GSX. I got it when I was into drag racing and the AWD is awsome for smokin people off the line. Now i'm getting more into Highway racing and Drifting and I want something with an incredible power to weight ratio. I'm gona get a 94' FD. I've been into FD's since my sophmore year in H.S. in 96' but when I went looking for my first performance car there were no FD's that I could find to finance. Anyways, my plans are to go with an XS built street ported motor, HKS twin ingnition, Blitz 800cc primary and 1600cc secondary injectors, Cosmos fuel pump, Rotary Extreme V-Mount I.C. (HKS if I can afford it...probably not), Rotary Extreme twin 34 row oil coolers, Blitz intake, HKS downpipe, GReddy Titanium exhaust, APEXi Power FC, and the all mighty HKS T51R-Kai. What do ya'll think about that set up? I'm also gona go with the 99' Spec JDM body for a little style and better air flow for the I.C. and oil coolers. I'm looking for feedback. Any info is good info so keep it comming. Thanks.

I got a greddy t88 kit and fmic, what kinda hp should I expect and about what rpm. I personally don't mind the lag, it's just the other guys head start.

Can anyone compare the RX6, T51r kai, T04 (whichever of them) and the gt35/40 turbos? I'm not too much into just putting up big numbers. I'd like something more streetable with a linear-like powerband.

I just purchased a T88. I read alot about lag. But i dont plan on racing my car on a daily bases, probly take it to the track once or twice just out of curiosity . It is driven daily, I think lag is better for street driving due to the fact that if you get stuck in the rain it would be easier to drive with out boosting.I know my factorys make me loose traction in the rain when they boost at low throttle. Was going to go with the t78 but for $200 more y not go with the T88. If lag ever became a problem i would add a small shot of nos that fades out after the turbo kicks in. I like the HKS T04R but i didnt want to spend over 3,500. Havent heard and negitive things about Greddy and it is a good name brand. As far as building your own kit, yea it would be cheaper, but i dont feel like tracking down the nessary parts. I do all my own work so i like the fact the when i get my kit everything is in the box, and when i get the greddy intercooler it comes with everything needed to go from my turbo the the intercooler. The worst thing is to start a project and forget a gasket or something small like that and have to wait a week or more for the part. Also the bolt on kits are made to fit perfectly in the car.
