The T04S spools like a GT-35/40, if not a little faster. It tops out really quick though. The T78 with the upgraded compressor wheel on a Pineapple Engine SCREAMS and spools almost like a GT-35/40, but with MORE top end. Instead of the "waiting for 6K for 2Gs" it pushes you back in the seat much earlier. The GT-35/40 kicks early, builds to a point where you are so illegal that it just stopped being relative anymore. Yes, both version of the T78 have more legs...but I like the all-around driveability of the T04s and GT-35/40.

I have not tried this turbo YET, but Precision is making a turbo called a PT67. This is essentially a TO4R (slightly larger hot side than a T66). It is available as a Q trim(pt67H) as well. For a water cooled Vband version with the newest Garret GT-Q wheel, it will set you back around 1500.00. This turbo made 723rwhp on a Supra w/a log style manifold, with flat torque all the way to redline once full boost was reached. Other than that The T66 1.00, or 1.15 Q trim seems to be good for 500-600rwhp .
All above is as always IMHO. Good luck, and keep us posted, Carl Byck

I'm thinkin' RX6 or T88. I think if ur that concerned with spool up you should get the RX6. I dont see why everyone who wants lots of power would get the t78 over the t88. If it's cause its cheaper thats an ok reason.

Yeah, now I'm thinking I'll just put together my own single setup. Something like a 60-1.....have any of you guys put together your own single setup? I'm not worried about doing some fabrication. I've made 3 or 4 mandrel bent custom exaust systems, put together more ss lines than you can shake a stick at.....I mean what else is there to fab up besides a down pipe, and maybe have someone make your exaust manifold? Is there anymore to it than that? CJ

Garrett T51, its a good mid size turbo and looks natural in the engine bay

If I was going to rev higher than 9k rpm and do a full race port I would choose a larger frame turbo than this, or use twins of some description.

I have a question.

I bought a TO4B 60-1 .96 A/R .70 trim with a 4" inducer.

If I'm unhappy with the spool up can I change this to a .84A/R??

thanks,
Ian

I have a Turbonetics dual ceramic bb watercooled T-66. You had better be pointed in the right direction when the boost comes on...holy monkey!!!

.96 ar, p-trim, undivided, custom manifold and DP, running 15psi.

I'll post numbers when I get them.
