turbo

i am not gonna be taking my car to the strip...its a street car and im wondering which single turbo i should go for...i was looking at the GT 35/40 and people who have it say it doesn't have much lag but the top end isn't that good. I was also looking at the Greddy T78 and I was told you have full boost by 4500rpms and it has a nice top end. The other turbo I was lookin at is the XS T04S...im not putting a turbo in yet but I just want to get some background on a few turbos..

any opinions?

Have you thought about the GT40R? It's A-Spec's brand new kit that should be able to produce similar numbers to the T-78 but spool a bit quicker since it's ball bearing?
Also you could look into the upgraded T-78 like Jason has.
I have the 35/40 and it's great on the street. I have full boost (1bar) by 3400 or so. Haven't taken it to the strip yet, but I love it.

how is the top end on which turbo? The 35/40 or the 40r
The 35/40 is lower than the T-78, but the 40r is supposed to be as high as the T-78. Contact Sean at A-Spec. I'm sure he can send you the compressor maps for both to compare to the T-78 compressor map, but of course other things will come into play such as your porting and other mods.
