Tranny Problem

Hey guys I just got finished this past month building my car again. I have a 95 Rx7 bridgeported motor, upgraded T-78, basically I did everything i could to get power out of this engine. My problem is I went to the track the other night and after my burnout on the my last pass I could not get the car into gear. I figure I broke a rod in the tranny. So my question is if i'm gonna drive this car on both the street and track which tranny can hold up 500whp load?

have you pulled the tranny out? it could be just the clutch that went out
there's not that many options except for greddy's 6sp tranny and customizing the stock one with different gearing

lots and lots of guys use the stock tranny for that power level... maybe yours ws just ready to go?

other than that, i think there's a company in aussie-land that makes an adapter to run a getrag tranny. that's stronger. or you could always go with one of those nutty sequentials for $5k+

how much ya wanna spend? personally, i'd just use the stock $350 j-spec tranny and replace it when it brakes. you'd go through 20-30+ of them before you reached the cost of one of those sequential conversions.

I've had Rob rebuild some n/a transmitions in the past. (One, that was stuck in reverse, and he did it while I waited!) They always performed flawless. CJ
