TO4 Turbo Manifold & Wastegate Question

I'm just trying to make sure I know how it all goes together before I buy everything. I'm planning on buying a TO4 Turbo, HKS cast iron manifold, and a HKS standard wastegate.
OK, the wastegate bolts directly to the manifold right? And do I also have to buy that little flex pipe that HKS sells for the wastegate outlet? On that note, does that outlet get plumbed directly into the downpipe? I was thinking of getting the Racing Beat 3 inch dp, but if I have to cut a hole in it to plumb the wastegate then there is no point in getting that and I need a custom fabricated downpipe made. Thanks.

Well first off, the racing beat downpipe is made for the stock turbos and won't fit the single turbo unless you do some pretty major modifications to it. It wouldn't be cost effective to buy the twin downpipe and have it made to fit single. It would be much cheaper just to get one fabricated. You can just let the wastegate plumb to the air if you don't want to have to worry about the plumbing(what I am doing), but it is definately louder than it being plumbed back to the downpipe. Oh yeah, and the wastegate does bolt right up to the manifold. On that manifold you can use the HKS Standard or HKS Racing W/G. Just not the HKS Racing S/S (different base).

I was just going to order it from rx7 store. Basically same price and I've heard a lot of good feedback about rx7 store, I haven't heard too much about rx7trix.

did you mean the HKS GT wastegate also fits the hks cast manifold? GT is 50mm and racing is 60 mm.

You got that backwards, the GT is 60mm V-Band and the Racing is 50mm bolt on. I just got my 50mm HKS Racing in on monday and the Cast manifold on thursday. HKS also make the 50mm Racing S/S wastegate that can only be used with there Stainless manifold. So basically, the Standard and Racing can be used on cast, the Racing S/S on the stainless, and the GT on the T51 manifold

Thanks for clearing that up. Where did you get your 50mm gate? I have looked but everywhere I look is still over 500 which is too much.

I got it from www.hpautoworks.com

They have it for 530 which is the cheapest I could find. I also got the manifold from there, but it isn't listed on their site. They can get pretty much anything from HKS as long as you have the part number from www.hksusa.com.
