gday,
What sought of modding do i need to do to my holley 465 apart from jetting it to get it to run a turbo? The turbo is from a 2000 MY99 WRX. I know its small but I reckon its all I need. I'm set on doing this but want to know how much its going to take to get it done. I don't want a intercooler. Just turbo with a pipe to the free world. I reckon 5-6psi would be enuff for a bridgeport? I just want a bit more power down low. Should I search for a 12a turbo manifold? Will that be ok to fit on my 12a bridgeport? Then all I need is to get a turbo hat and piping and put it together and tune it. Am I missing anything here? Sounds so simple and I can see it being done soon! Also I have a fuel regulator and holley fuel pump. Should these 2 do the job? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

That turbo is WAY too small for even a stock port rotary let alone a bridgeport. You are absolutely going to choke the engine and potentially make less power than you have now. A bridgeport engine needs a very free flowing exhaust. This also applies to the exhaust flow through the turbo. A very small turbo on the exhaust side will result in a large amount of back pressure. On your high overlap engine this will result in severe dilluting of the intake charge with hot oxygen free exhaust gasses. Hotter air and less oxygen make far less power. The compressor on that turbo can also not flow the amount of air that your engine will require. It will choke pretty early in the powerband. Even if you could spin it fast enough to supply the air, it would be so inefficient and hot that it would probably be prone to detonation before power.
You can turbo a bridgeport and get spectacular results. Just don't use that one. Maybe if you used 2 of them you could get decent results but even that is questionable.
