Tial wastegate install

Hi,

I have a 40mm Tial wastegate. On the installation diagram it says: Wastegate air control side port connection. Supply air from intake manifold, before throttle plate.

The BEFORE THROTTLE PLATE, is that really important? Did you take the vacuum/boost source before the TB ? I thought it was directly on the intake manifold.

Thanks!

The two nipples on my HKS wastegate are 1.) Boost/Vacuum source (on the UIM), and second nipple goes to boost controller solenoid.

You can source the line from either the intake or the compressor cover. There are pros and cons to each but doesn't really matter.

If you put the side nipple on a source after the throttle body then the boost could spike on you. Where as if you route the side nipple to a source before the throttle body you will get a much stronger boost signal.

Thanks for answers guys!

I have a 13B-RE, I don't think I have a nipple before the TB. Did you tap some kind of nipple ?
