Actually, ErnieT ran 10.73 @ 128 on a stock reman with KKK turbo @ 22psi, putting down an estimated 480-490rwhp. I'm gonna say he is a better driver than average though...

thats the spirit u guys. the setup i was thinkin bout was a bridge port( gotta love the bridge port) and a t51 kia or Spl or maybe the new twin kit from a-spec tuning. I really like sokudo's setup too.
for those of u that dont know on an earlier post he claimed 20 psi by 3500rpm and 650 horsepower(he's got the bridge port and a t5ir kai)

Is this going to be a track car only, or do you plan to drive it on the street as well?

Your intentions for the car effect (or is it affect?) our advice.

oops, sorry, missed that part "did i mention it needs to be a dialy driver?"

My sig will get you a good idea of mods you'll need, minus the bling bling items. Turbo choice is up to you and probably one of the hardest decisions you'll make...I've been very happy with the spool and top end of the GT35/40 setup I have, there are definately bigger HP turbos though...

I have a car capable of running 10's, (I'm just not a 10 second driver, yet), it is not my daily, but I put 11k miles on it last year so it is definitely streetable

if you drive it easy you won't break too much stuff. all the stuff i broke was mainly on the track drag racing it. i tend to go a little overboard when i'm drag racing. i think my last name is "Force"

Then we should not race together, Vosko. I am a BAD influence and get caught up in the "...let's do it again....FASTER and NOW!" theme.

Axles? Which axles are you using. I've never heard this mentioned on this forum before and never heard of this being a 10 sec. car problem. Please explain. Maybe a list of RX7 axle suppliers? Thanks.

this is the list of mods on my first gen to get into the 10sec mark,

Street port motor, no bridge in sight,
60-1 turbo on 19psi, .70 front, 1.32 rear, small comp wheel

C16 race gas
TII tranny,
Ford 9in *** end,
26x8 slicks,
microtech ecu,

car weighted over 1300kg so weight is on par with a 3rd gen,
there are 10sec 3rd gens over here that are running 10's on street port motors and 66-1 turbos, you dont need huge bridge ports and massive turbos but they help!!

I'm feeling a little left out here. Are you guys specifically talking about 3rd gens? I could only anny up to a 2nd gen with some mods. But I guess by the time I can afford to get anything into the 10s I'll be looking into a 3rd gen first. But as far as my 2nd gen,how far will stock axles go? Low 12's?Keep in mind my car w/o turbocharing my car weighs in at 2300lbs. When will they snap?

stock mazda parts are decent to the low 12 second range. you can get 300M axles for your FC but you need to send your old axles into a shop that can do it.

i was THIS close to ordering a guru tranny..... common sense prevailed fortunately or not.................

Ive run a 10.7 @130 in a fd with standard drivetrain bar a 5 puck clutch. so axles arent a necessity.
