T88 question.

Got a question for those with t88 or t78. I know that both of those greddy turbos require alot of fuel to support them but will I have to have secondary injectors in order to use the turbos or can Just have the ones that i have and upgrade them if im just using low boost like 7-12psi. I already have a Power fc ECu. and have enough money to get the turbo kit (just bought another FD).

and will a fuel cut defenser be effective in this case?

You can increase the size of the stock 850 cc/min secondary injectors to 1300 cc/min by removing them from the car and sending them to RC Engineering. That should be enough total fuel flow for running low boost on the turbos you are looking at. I wrote a self-service web page that you can use to play with injector sizes, etc. to see how much HP a particular fuel system configuration can support: http://maxcooper.com/rx7/how-to/fuel_system/calcs.html

A fuel cut defenser lies to the ECU about how much boost you are running so that the ECU won't cut fuel. They are a lousy device for any kind of tuning work. Fortunately, you have a PowerFC with a configurable boost-related fuel cut level (that can even be configured to never happen), so a lying FCD device would only be bad for your car. You don't need one.

Well, you will need to get it tuned if you don't want to blow it. Just having the parts isn't enough. In other words, unless you do get it tuned (with a wideband, Datalogit, someone who knows what they are doing, and perhaps a dyno), it is likely that you will blow the motor in a week.

Also, I would seriously consider something other than a T88 if you only plan to run a small amount of boost in the long term. And if you plan to run something huge, you might want to use 1600 injectors and a different fuel rail. However, I feel like a bit of a hypocrite saying those things since I am running an R85 turbo kit (pretty large) and don't plan to run it much over 15 psi (not a lot of boost), and my injectors are 850pri/1300sec (rather than 1600s).
