I'm kind of wondering the same thing, I have an H1C though with a 18.5 cm housing... But then again it's probably cheaper just to buy a T3 flange cut the t4 flange off most aftermaket manifolds and weld it on.

Another reason for my OP is because my turbo has the internal waste gate and i want to phase it out and run an external waste gate. i can weld it shut but i don't trust my welds.
^^ ill probably be cheaper to just get a T3/T4 adapter in your case.

If you want a clean external setup and have a t4 manifold, buy a t4 hotside. They are rather inexpensive.
The thing that does suck about them is IF you get a vband, they are exclusive to those turbos. Meaning a 3" vband that fits a tial, hks, garrett, etc hotside will NOT fit your holset.
You'd still get stuck welding something.

Sorry for the revive. I'm interested in running an HX40 I have on my FC. Mine has the standard 19cm2 t4 vband hotside. NoPistons, would I run int the same issue trying to fit my RB 4" dp onto it? When I mocked it up it fit pretty tight.
I have considered going to the T3 hotside as well, but after some more research, the T4 hotside will do just fine. People are reporting 15-20 psi right around 4000rpm, so it could be worth while for you to get one.
